It costs me more to heat my 900 square foot trailer last winter than it did to heat my 3 bedroom home. In April I applied and was approved for Income Eligible Assistance. A company called Eco-Smart came out in their colorful Tyvek covered truck complete with their glossy full cover binder of all the wonderful things they wanted to sell me. On the second mandatory visit, 2 more young men show up in a brightly colored Tyvek covered truck. This time, more colorful 4 fold full pocket advertising….but, no proposal and no services offered. I had had weatherization in the past, and those wonderful men made a meaningful difference in the comfort of my home and the cost of my heating bill. They caulked, insulated, switched out bulbs, weatherstripped, and insulated. My home was so much more comfortable. At this point I will mention that I came home to Connecticut after receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis. It was strongly suggested that I return home to have familial support. I don’t know what happened with the program while I was gone, but, if you’re hoping to get any low income assistance from Eco-Smart, forget it. They are too busy giving out 4 page glossy embossed advertising.

I had an outstanding experience with EcoSmart Home Services overall, largely due to my technicians, Terado Hyatt and Royland Sterling. They came to my 1950's Cape home to perform much-needed energy-efficiency improvements, like caulking around doors and installing metal weatherproofing components to help eliminate drafts. From the moment they arrived, they were professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and incredibly thorough. What stood out most was the care they took - Terado and Royland didn't rush through the work or take shortcuts - they carefully inspected every area, identified all the places where air could be leaking, and took the time necessary to address each one properly. Their attention to detail was impressive, and they made sure every door and opening that needed work received it. It was clear they were focused on doing the job right rather than simply finishing quickly. I highly recommend EcoSmart Home Services and want to specifically thank Terado Hyatt and Royland Sterling for their exceptional service!

The initial visit for the home energy audit was great. The follow up visit for installing insulation was not. Insulation dust everywhere, improperly installed insulation as to cause an obstructed attic hatchway, and they up-charged after the work was done. Do the energy audit but nothing else.

We had a wonderful experience with this company. We originally applied for a Home Energy Audit through the state, and Terado came to our house to conduct the audit and provide us with an estimate for the work. Jaden and Dontel came to our house to insulate our walls through the exterior and insulate our basement ceiling, as well as providing an attic hatch cover. They were so careful not to break our exterior shakes and the house looked pristine after they were gone (like we never had the house insulated). While they were down in the basement, they even fixed a problem they noticed without telling us. We are so pleased with the services provided by EcoSmartCT and would use them again in a heartbeat!

I got to know them through Energy assessment from Eversource. I received a quote for insulation work. Even approved it the same day...and then everyone ghosted me. I even called back a week later but the only thing I got was "someone will call back." If you have no interest on doing the job, at least say so. It's very unprofessional to pretend people don't exist.
