Edesia Kitchen and Bath Studio is a boutique design studio in Burlington, MA, run by principal designer Dianne Aucello. BBB's profile puts it at 16 years in business, and the company describes itself as working by appointment, taking a kitchen or bath from consultation through construction rather than just supplying cabinets off a shelf. The written record here is short but pointed: twelve Houzz reviews, all five stars, written between 2016 and 2019, and they read less like generic praise and more like project logs. In a 2019 review, a homeowner credited Dianne with sourcing a soapstone-look quartz and fabricating a custom apron-front sink after their original picks fell through on a 200-year-old farmhouse remodel. A 2016 review describes a marble hunt that didn't stop until the right slab turned up. More than one client came back a second time — a 2018 review describes hiring her for "the kitchen and three bathrooms," and a 2017 review recounts a kitchen project followed by a master bath. Edesia also turned up in the press once: a 2017 Boston.com/Wicked Local feature on the Belmont Designer Show House credited Dianne and interior designer Kelly Rogers with a "morning kitchen" built for entertaining. Worth knowing before booking: every written review on file dates to 2016-2019, so it's worth asking for current references or recent project photos rather than assuming the pace and style are unchanged. Its BBB profile is A+ with no complaints on record, though the "BBB Accredited Professional" badge Houzz lists doesn't match BBB's own page, which states the business is not a BBB Accredited Business — a labeling mismatch worth a quick gut-check, not a red flag on its own. Edesia fits a homeowner who wants a designer steering the whole kitchen-and-bath project — layout, cabinetry, countertops and material sourcing — rather than picking parts off a shelf. Confirm current availability and ask to see recent work before booking a consultation.
“Kelly Rogers’ and Diane Aucello’s Morning Kitchen is like a private cafe. It’s an ideal spot for brewing espresso in a high-end coffee machine, grabbing seasonal fruit from the refrigerator drawer, or heating up takeout meals in the steam oven, but not for cooking meals. The color palette is pretty, and hand painted stripes on the walls pick up the pale gray blue of the cabinetry. The plum-colored island rocks an incredible soapstone counter. Rogers is with Kelly Rogers Interiors, LLC in Waban and Aucello is with Edesia Kitchen and Bath Studio in Burlington.”

From start to finish, working with Dianne has been a pleasure not just for us, but for our contractor and architect too. Our 200 year old farmhouse featured a tired old gloomy 60's-era kitchen with low ceilings and mismatched Formica. It was a challenge, but Dianne immediately saw the possibilities. She captured and vastly improved on our vision. I dreamed of soapstone counter tops but worried about chipping and maintenance. Dianne suggested a lovely new care-free quartz that mimics soapstone, complete with veining. When the white farmer's kitchen sink we ordered was not available, she suggested fabricating an apron front sink out of the same "soapstone" quartz. The result is seamless and stunning, and a real nod to the antiquity of the house. Disarmingly cheerful, she made herself available throughout the project, and when inevitable issues arose, she was flexible and came up with imaginative solutions. For example, once the kitchen was gutted there was a problem with the placement of a "chase" to run plumbing/wiring to the second floor. Dianne suggested a tweak to the architect's plans that provided a chase, while eliminating a dreaded corner cabinet and adding a bonus walk-in pantry with even more storage. Dianne held my hand when it came time to choose light fixtures, knobs and all the little extras, and she didn't steer my wrong. She respected that, given the age of the house, we were going for simplicity and did not try to "up-sell" us. Armed with an inventory list she made of all that was stored in our original kitchen, she recommended drawer and cabinet inserts that gave us a place for everything. With everything in its place, the counter tops are now clear and multiple cooks can prepare a meal while talking and laughing with family and friends who are not underfoot. The end result is a homey bright uncluttered kitchen with plenty of storage and work space that has become the social center of our home. We couldn't be happier.
Dianne was a great professional and a very pleasant person to work with! She helped us with the design and construction of the kitchen and three bathrooms. She had great suggestions that fit in with our lifestyle and have proven to be very helpful now that we use the kitchen and baths. She was very conscious of our budget and helped us stay within it. She helped us source materials that we liked and supported our ideas! I cannot recommend Dianne and Edesia Kitchen and Bath Studio enough!
After renovating my dining and sitting rooms, my kitchen suddenly felt dated. Enter Dianne, the creative genius behind my beautifully redesigned "heart of the home" space. She reimagined my kitchen to be modern, sleek with a dose of Spanish charm. My husband and I truly enjoyed working with Dianne and miss her bright and sunny disposition.
With clean lines, a high quality design aesthetic and a meticulous attention to detail, Dianne at Edesia made our kitchen look stunning. She was the star of our house renovation and if you have any questions, feel free to email me.
I had the pleasure of working with Dianne on my kitchen renovation and couldn't be happier with the result. She helped with the design and recommended a great contractor, with whom she interfaced when needed to make sure it all came together beautifully. The cabinet lines are clean and modern, complementing the design aesthetic of my loft perfectly. Thanks, Dianne!
