Ehrlich Pest Control is a national exterminator working out of a Hingham, MA office, and its written record splits cleanly in two. One half is a handful of individual technicians — Doug, Judy, Steve — who draw five-star praise going back to 2021, each review naming the same person as the reason someone stayed a customer. The other half is the company itself: scheduling and billing behavior that a striking number of reviewers describe as unreliable, and it's the half that has dominated the last two years. The complaint that repeats most often, in reviews from 2021 through this July, is the no-show: a technician who never arrives in a promised window, doesn't call, and leaves someone who took the day off with nothing to show for it. Several reviewers describe worse. A July 2026 review says a scheduled visit never happened and the company charged for it anyway; a May 2026 review describes a $325 charge for a service a technician later said Ehrlich doesn't even offer; an October 2024 review says a written refund promise — after a yellow-jacket treatment failed and the customer was stung four times — was later refused; and a June 2024 review alleges that after four weeks without service or a reply to emails, a technician showed up after hours and signed for a visit that never happened. Two September 2024 reviews trace the trouble to growth by acquisition — one says the company is "really Rentokil" and describes being routed to someone in Florida, the other names the reviewer's original provider, Bain Pest Control, as one of the firms absorbed; an April 2026 review names a separate acquisition, Watch All, the same way. The Better Business Bureau lists a C- grade with three complaints on file. Google's own page shows a 4★ average across 250 ratings, well above what the written reviews suggest — of the nine posted in the last six months, eight are negative. That isn't the whole picture. A June 2026 review names Bill Coffey as a responsive account contact who keeps property-management visits on schedule. And the positive residential reviews tend to be specific rather than generic: a 2021 review describes Doug sealing mouse entry points around a basement and setting traps, another from the same year describes Judy handling recurring mice and stink bugs in an old house, and five-star reviews through 2025 keep naming Doug as the reason people haven't switched. Before booking, ask whether you can request a specific technician for recurring visits — the reviews suggest that's what separates the good experiences from the bad ones here — and get any promised refund, cancellation, or billing change confirmed in writing rather than by phone.
Should be zero stars. This has been, without question, the worst experience I have ever had with a service company. They scheduled a service appointment, never showed up, never called, and still charged me for a service that was never performed. What happened next was even more unbelievable. I contacted customer service more than eight times. Every representative apologized, promised to make it right, and assured me that a technician would come out to address my pest problem. Despite all of those promises, no one ever showed up. I wasted countless hours waiting for appointments that never happened and repeatedly had to follow up because no one at the company took responsibility. To make matters even worse, I later obtained the service ticket showing the visit had supposedly been completed. The document indicates that the service was performed and includes a signature in the customer signature area beneath my printed name. I was never present, I never received the service, and I certainly never signed or authorized anyone to sign on my behalf. Seeing a document that suggests I acknowledged work that was never performed was extremely concerning. Charging a customer for a service that was never provided is unacceptable. Repeatedly making promises that no one follows through on is unacceptable. Completing paperwork indicating the service was performed when it was not only makes the situation worse. I would strongly recommend avoiding this company. Between the no-call/no-show appointment, charging me for work that was never completed, more than eight calls to customer service with nothing but broken promises, and the inaccurate service documentation, this has been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I have ever had.
If I could give this company Zero Stars I would!! Many times I had scheduled appointments for them to come to my home time and time again they have not showed uo, no phone call to reschedule. Today they were supposed to be at my home between 12-5 I took today off from work and AGAIN NO CALL!! When I called to confirm the appointment the rep informed me they are short handed and somebody will be out next Wednesday, June 24 they never confirmed this appointment with me, I can’t not take Any more time from work to deal with this company!!! I will be canceling my contract with them, Also, they’re supposed to show up For the outside of my home. They do not show up, but they still charge THIS CO. IS A JOKE!!! BEWARE!!!
Bill Coffey/Ehrlich is great! Always very responsive and when it comes to doing my company’s PM’s, he is right on schedule and his reports are thorough and come very quick .
Would rate 0 solely for the facts that one of their drivers was driving the work truck like an absolute psychopath this morning all because I moved in front of him on the highway. High beaming me, flipping me off, trying to hit my car, and wouldn’t stop doing it for 10 exits. Called customer service because I was genuinely scared that he was going to do something to me. I would never want someone like that in my home or my place of work. Absolutely ridiculous to act like that in general but especially in a work truck representing a company.
I contracted with them to provide a service, that the technician later stated they do not even provide. Nothing was done at my house, no spraying, no exam of exterior/interior. Wrote back to the sales rep to let him know nothing was done and to cancel all future visits. He stated he understood, then charged my card $325. Could never get him or anyone from the company to call me back after that. Still fighting the charges.
