Shingle staining, stucco painting and repairs before repainting are jobs customers have described hiring EJ's Painting LLC to do. The Holden company says it is a family painting business serving Central Massachusetts since 1978, founded by Eric J. Johansen and now owner-operated by Clayton Johansen. Its website names Holden and Princeton as service areas and offers residential interior and exterior painting, preparation, repairs, priming, finishing and cleanup. In a June 2025 Google review, a homeowner described the crew staining the house's shingles and painting its foundation. The customer credited Anthony and Bobby with examining the shingles and woodwork as they went and replacing anything that needed attention. A September 2024 reviewer said the company painted their Holden home's exterior stucco and trim and called the price fair. Interior projects included a kitchen whose customer, writing in May 2024, described the ceiling and two coats of Ashen Tan covering Italian Red. The reviewer said the work took one day; doing it themselves would have taken three because of the high ceilings and obstacles. In December 2022, another homeowner described hiring EJ's to repaint the entire interior of a newly purchased house. They said the crew fixed holes and cracks in horsehair plaster before painting and hung a few replacement pieces of trim. A customer writing in August 2023 said Clayton's final price matched the estimate and the project started when he expected it would. A September 2023 exterior-painting review praised communication and timely quoting and scheduling, naming Anthony and Bobby as on-site team leaders. Google lists a 4.9-star average from 60 ratings. BBB lists the company as accredited with an A+ grade, and the company's website says insurance papers and references are available. One prospective customer writing in March 2022 reported a different experience: after contacting EJ's through its website and by phone about exterior painting, they said they never received a response.
