Elite Gutters

Elite Gutters is a family-owned gutter shop that says it has worked out of Peabody, Massachusetts since 2016 (its About page says 2017), covering Boston, Salem, Cambridge, Dorchester, Concord and Chelsea by its own account. Gutters are the core of the business — installation, cleaning, and repair — with exterior trim work, and, per its own site, roofing and snow plowing on the side. On HomeAdvisor the company sits at 4.6 out of 5 across 52 ratings, and the written reviews on file run from 2019 to 2023 rather than clustering recently. The newer ones read well: in an April 2021 review a homeowner described the crew as prompt and courteous from quote to completion, responsive by email, and said they replaced some extra fascia that wasn't in the original quote without charging for it. A September 2023 review called the price reasonable for work on an older home. The older reviews are where the real caution lives. A June 2019 review said the company never came back to re-pitch a gutter under warranty despite repeated calls and emails. A February 2020 review described window-wrapping work as poorly done, with pieces falling off, and said the owner stopped responding after being shown photos. A September 2020 review is the most serious: a customer paid a deposit in May, the contractor kept delaying the start of the job, and the refund only came through in September — four and a half months later — after HomeAdvisor stepped in. HomeAdvisor lists a Massachusetts trade license (#194781, expiring March 2027) for the company, a directory record rather than a state verification. The pattern worth asking about before booking is follow-through: what happens if something needs a warranty fix, and how quickly they commit to a start date once a deposit changes hands. The 2021 and 2023 experiences suggest a crew capable of solid, fairly priced gutter work when a job runs smoothly; the 2019–2020 reviews suggest getting commitments on timing and warranty response in writing is worth doing before paying anything up front.
