Before anything gets torn out, you see it. Four customers writing between 2019 and 2023 described the room drawn in 3D first — one October 2022 homeowner, living in an old house full of entrances and wasted space, got numerous 3D drawings with the pros and disadvantages of each and settled on the single one they liked. A homeowner in August 2022 who had been through many remodels called it the best design process they had experienced. Emily's Interiors is a kitchen and bath design showroom at 779 Hartford Turnpike in Shrewsbury: 3D design, cabinetry, flooring, hardware and appliances, sold and installed, for homeowners, designers and architects. Joseph Kupstas founded it in 2016 and named it for his daughter Emily, who works in marketing and business development; Michael Connors is general manager. A January 2020 local news piece said he started the company out of frustration with cabinet designers and distributors after more than 20 years in building and remodeling. BBB grades it A+ and puts it at 10 years, started 5/26/2016, and the founder's Houzz profile says the company runs three design studios, in Shrewsbury, Sudbury and Framingham. The jobs reviewers describe are substantial. In December 2023, a customer used Emily's for a kitchen, pantry, mudroom and two-and-a-half bathrooms inside a whole-house remodel and called the cabinets high quality and built to last. Another that month had them design a kitchen, two bathrooms and a full 14-office buildout in an 1800s building being converted for commercial use. A third December 2023 reviewer described a bathroom with a steam shower, an air-jetted tub and marble with intricate mouldings, then went back to do the kitchen. In October 2024, a homeowner finishing a six-month renovation credited them with everything from window-frame style to fixtures, tile and carpet. Bathrooms have brought the awards: a 2018 Professional Remodeler Platinum Award for a bath over $60K and a 2019 NARI CotY regional win for a residential bath over $100K. Scale is not the only thing they take on — a May 2024 customer with just one bathroom in the house said the team designed exactly what they wanted and kept it quick. Know what you are buying. BBB describes the business as working directly with other interior designers and builders to design and supply cabinetry and project materials, while a July 2022 reviewer noted a construction manager in the kitchen plans department alongside the designers.
