ENVIRO LLC is a Boston general contractor at 105 Revere St that Angi lists as offering everything from additions and kitchen-and-bath remodeling to electrical, plumbing, masonry, and roofing work, with the company itself claiming 27 years in business. Its written record on Angi is thin and old — just three reviews, the most recent from 2010 — but two of them, from 2006 and 2008, describe a positive experience with an owner named Bernie: one reviewer called him reliable with frequent updates, and another said the crew's work was high quality with prices that came in below competing estimates. The third, a 2010 review, tells a very different story: the homeowner says the contractor, named as Surette in that account, took on an addition and partial renovation while unlicensed and had pulled the permit under another builder's name, then poured the foundation and ran the plumbing incorrectly and damaged the radiant heat tubing, ending in a terminated contract with more than $12,000 unaccounted for and unpaid subcontractors. Angi's own listing attributes a home improvement contractor number (HIC-153004) and a construction supervisor's license (#S-91514 & 91112) to the company — those are the directory's claims, not something verified against a state registry, so it's worth confirming current licensing directly before signing anything, especially given the 2010 account of unlicensed work. With such a small, dated review pool split between two very different accounts of the same era, this is a business worth vetting carefully — ask for current license numbers and recent references before committing to anything beyond a small job.

A complete nightmare. Worst decision we have ever made and we are still paying for it. Surette billed himself as a licensed contractor capable of and experienced at building an addition and performing a partial home renovation. After concealing it from us, it turns out that he was unlicensed and pulled the permit under another builder's name. In the meantime he poured the foundation incorrectly, installed the plumbing incorrectly, and punctured the radiant heat tubing. Despite multiple warnings he undermined the neighbor's walkway resulting in costly delays and intervention by the city inspectors. He repeatedly failed to follow detailed architectural plans provided to him at the outset of the project. After a 8 weeks he was 4 weeks behind schedule and over $12,000 could not be accounted for despite being paid in advance. We also found out from his subcontractors that he was not paying what he owed them despite being paid on time by us. He was eventually terminated for breach of contract and lying to us about his license status.
I had a good experience with Enviro and would use them again. The owner, Bernie, provides frequent updates and he is reliable.
I was extremely pleased with all aspects of the work. The work has high quality. It was performed as quickly as possible. The prices for each stage of the renovation were below estimates. I received elsewhere. Unanticipated problems were handled honestly. A low cost to me. Given all of the horror stories I have heard about contractors, it was a pleasure to work with Bernie. His workers are excellent. I got better prices that other estimates made for the same work. Bernie explained each aspect of the job clearly to me. I have recommended him to my friends who need work done to the houses.
