ESI Waterproofing and Masonry Restoration works at a different scale than most residential contractors — the reviews here describe $30,000 to $500,000 projects, repointing entire buildings and correcting problems on structures over a century old. The Boston-based company says it's been doing this since 1987, and its DCAMM certification (needed for Massachusetts public-agency work) plus a long list of manufacturer-approved-contractor credentials — Sika, 3M, Vulkem, Dur-A-Flex among them — point to a firm built for institutional and commercial masonry and waterproofing work, not just homeowner jobs. The written reviews back that up: a 2023 review describes engaging ESI for a string of projects over three years, all delivered on time and on budget regardless of size; another from the same year credits the project manager's communication on a two-building repointing job; a third describes ESI correcting unforeseen problems tied to a building's age the right way rather than papering over them. Even a fellow contractor — Advanced Scaffold Services of New England, writing in 2023 — says the crew is professional and easy to coordinate with on site. Google shows a perfect 5★ from 11 ratings and BBB carries it at an A+ (though the business isn't BBB-accredited). There isn't a public complaint or dispute on record here, and the review volume is modest for a company this established — likely a reflection of a commercial/institutional client base that doesn't leave Google reviews as often as homeowners do. For a larger masonry, waterproofing, or restoration project — especially one involving an older or public building — ESI's credentials and multi-decade track record make it worth a call; it's less suited to a small, one-off residential repair.

ESI is an outstanding company. They are consistently responsive, staffed with knowledgeable experts, and deliver work of exceptional quality. I highly recommend ESI for any project—large or small—as their team has the experience and capability to handle virtually anything with professionalism and precision.
ESI has done work for our property multiple times with great results. It is a field that if you do not know what you're are doing you will have problems. We did have some unforeseen issues due to the age of the building over 100 years old and ESI was able to correct them one way. The correct way. I cannot say enough to express my satisfaction with them. Pricing and completion of work is what they do very well. I strongly recommend them.
We have engaged ESI for a number of projects in the last 3 years. These have ranged from $30,000 projects to $500,000 projects. Regardless of the size of the project, they have always done exactly what they proposed, on time and within budget. We would highly recommend them!
ESI repointed 2 buildings for us. They did a great job and I would use them again with no hesitation. The project manager was great especially his communication. They did a great job and did exactly what they said they would do. They delivered on time, on budget withe great quality. Rob
