ESI Waterproofing and Masonry Restoration works out of Dorchester in Boston on the kind of jobs most people only deal with once: repointing failing mortar, waterproofing a foundation, restoring a century-old brick facade. The company says it's been at this since 1987, working out of Boston and Rockland, and it holds DCAMM certification, the credential Massachusetts requires for contractors bidding on larger public construction work. On Google, it carries a 5-star average across 11 ratings, and the Better Business Bureau gives it an A+ grade, though ESI hasn't gone through BBB's accreditation process. Its reviews, ten of them spread across six different sites since 2022, come back consistently positive, with no complaints surfacing on any platform checked. That's a clean read, but a modest one: this isn't a contractor with hundreds of reviews to draw on, just a small, steady cluster of praise. The company backs its restoration work with a long list of manufacturer certifications, including SIKA, Tufflex, Vulkem, Master Builders, and Dur-A-Flex, plus membership in BOMA and the International Concrete Restoration Institute, which fits a shop pitching technical craft over volume. Its Houzz profile, though, shows zero reviews there, so that platform doesn't add anything past what Google and BBB already show. ESI reads like a solid call for masonry restoration, historic building work, or commercial waterproofing where the DCAMM certification and manufacturer approvals matter, just confirm current licensing and get a written scope before signing on, since the reviews, while positive, are still thin in number.

ESI has done work for our property multiple times with great results. It is a field that if you do not know what you're are doing you will have problems. We did have some unforeseen issues due to the age of the building over 100 years old and ESI was able to correct them one way. The correct way. I cannot say enough to express my satisfaction with them. Pricing and completion of work is what they do very well. I strongly recommend them.

We have engaged ESI for a number of projects in the last 3 years. These have ranged from $30,000 projects to $500,000 projects. Regardless of the size of the project, they have always done exactly what they proposed, on time and within budget. We would highly recommend them!
