- Angi track record — nine reviews average 4.6 stars, mostly positive
- Google review pattern — majority describe abandonment or payment disputes
- One Angi complaint — a work-quality issue, not money or abandonment
Espinal Brothers Home Improvement is an HVAC contractor based in Peabody, and the reviews split sharply depending on where you look. On Google, the picture is rough: a 2.7-star rating across 12 reviews, and an independent contractor directory that reviewed those same ratings found nine of the twelve describe serious concerns — project abandonment and payment disputes chief among them. That's a majority of everyone who left a review, not an isolated complaint. Angi tells a different story: nine reviews there average 4.6 stars, almost all positive. The one negative review on that platform is narrower in scope — a complaint about the quality of a specific job, not anything involving money or a job left unfinished. Given how far apart those two pictures are, it's worth asking directly about payment structure — how much is due upfront versus on completion — and getting scope and timeline in writing before work starts. Angi's numbers say this company can do competent HVAC work; the Google pattern says that outcome isn't consistent, and when it goes wrong, it can go wrong badly.

A TOTAL SCAM. Stay away, run away and do not hire. I regret to inform you all that this contractor we hired has departed with our funds and left out house and apartment in such disrepair damager state that I am unable to rent it out or secure a new contractor to do my work. This contractor unlawfully appropriated my $4500 deposit, asking for more money in when just a little work was done and ceased showing up at the site after just three days on site. Additionally, he is not a legitimate builder or home improvement company. Rather, he will be sub-contracting these jobs to unlicensed individuals. As a result, he has vandalized my property and absconded without any communication.
Had to hire a new contactor and unfortunately have to pay more than what it could have been without his distortion.
His guys trashed away all new electrical items into the trash and I had to go digging for them, he even left my house trashed and never showed up, did not pick up my call and keep asking for more more money after I have paid him over 50% of the money for no to less work. Stay away from this so call builder. Total SCAM

before they took the work. Wow they said they are so good. Give them advanced money. Make some trust. They work one week hard to gain your trust and took the 90% money in advance then they never show up...don't trust them. They don't have the license to take permission and don't give them any money advanced. They said they going to complete my basement in 1 month ..its being 5 month I am still calling them ..texting them..no reply...they just took my money and go away. Please don't believe them. I wait this month than i go to police station to file complaint and file a complaint to the state's contractor's licensing board or commission. I made the mistake to give them all the money..
