In a 2025 review, a customer with a house over one hundred years old said Hirsch and Son built a walkway in the attic connecting one side to the other so other contractors could complete their work, and told that customer that what was thought to be rot was part of the old ceiling. That 2025 reviewer said Hirsch and Son replaced two old doors, added a third door to the interior rooms and custom fit them to doorways that were not squared, widening one doorway; the job took longer than expected but stayed on budget. The same 2025 customer said lumber with cosmetic flaws was bought to save money on the attic job and the savings were taken off the price. In another 2025 review, a customer said the company did a great job on a basement renovation and fit them into its schedule quickly. In a 2022 review, a customer said Hirsch and Son fixed and finished a previous contractor's deck work, including fixing framing to pass inspection, laying trex deck boards, and installing railings and a gate, and completed the project in a week. A 2022 customer described a deck railing project with Dustin as meticulous and said the price was more than fair. In a 2021 review, a customer listed painting, wall repair, light fixture installation, crown molding caulking, junk and trash removal, and carpet rip up among the work Dustin did. A 2021 customer said Dustin power washed and stained a deck and removed panels of an old fence. In a 2020 review, a customer said Dustin and Glen turned a chicken area idea into a reality, on time and on budget. A 2021 reviewer who had Dustin and Glen move a heavy bureau and dismantle a bed said they did a good job but seemed a little stressed and hurried.
I have hired Hirsch and Son have been working on my house for a while now. They simply are the best and they get the job done. I own a house that's over one hundred years old, and that comes with some challenges. Older carpentry techniques, materials and a slew of other challenges. Hirsch and Son was able to identify these techniques and challenges, and work around them. They have done work in my attic building a walkway connecting one side to the other, so that work could be completed by other contractors. They were able to tell me that my ceilings used to be higher than they are currently, and that what was thought to be rot was actually a part of the old ceiling (what a relief that was finding out that I DIDN'T have wood rot in my attic). Most recently, Hirsch and Son replaced two old doors and added a third door to lthe interior rooms. Since the house has settled over the years and the doorways weren't totally squared, they had to get new doors and custom fit them to the doorways. They were even able to widen one of the doorways before putting the door on. It took longer than expected, but they got the job done and stayed on budget. When I hired Hirsch and Son to work on my attic, they were able save money on the job by buying lumber that was less expensive (due to cosmetic flaws). I was made aware of this and the savings were taken off of the price of the job. That's a huge weight off of my mind that if a job ends up finishing under budget, that what's left over WON'T simply be pocketed. Needless to say that I have more projects planned for my house, and that Hirsch and Son will be the ones hired to do the work! Hire them! You'll be glad that you did!
They did a great job on my basement renovation and were able to fit me into their schedule quickly. Prices were very reasonable and Dustin was great to work with. Would definitely hire again for future projects.
Dustin and his dad were incredible to work with for our deck project! The project was no easy task, as they had to fix and finish a previous contractor’s work, which included fixing framing to pass inspection, laying trex deck boards, installing railings and a gate. From the beginning, Dustin was organized and went above and beyond to make sure we actually had all the materials needed to complete the project. He gave us a start date, stuck to it and put in full days at our property to complete the project in a week. We appreciated his punctuality, honesty and attention to detail. Our only regret is not hiring Hirsch & Son from the beginning!
Absolutely awesome to work with. Great quality work, excellent communication and priced extremely fair.
Excellent experience with Dustin, very professional and the work he did was meticulous. We got exactly what we were looking for (it was a deck railing project) and the end result was perfect! The price was more than fair for the quality of the work and the whole experience was seamless. Would recommend to others and would hire Hirsch and Son again!
