Thumbs up to Farias Builders of Dartmouth, one 2025 customer wrote, after a small home project that Derrick quoted competitively and finished as scheduled. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 210787, is active on the state registry. The company describes itself as 20 years in business.
A 2025 customer said Derrick and his crew renovated two bathrooms and replaced the shower unit, and they were only without a shower for one day. That 2025 customer also said Derrick came out for an estimate and sent a quote within a week. In a 2023 review, a customer said Derrick converted a bathtub to a walk-in shower at a reasonable price. A 2023 customer who hired him for a complete gut and renovation of a bathroom said his price was more reasonable than the other quotes.
A recent customer has used Farias for a couple of projects at home and plans to work with Derrick again. A recent reviewer said Derrick has worked on several projects in the family and called his pricing fair.
A 2024 customer said Farias Builders converted a lower level into an in-law apartment and that Derrick kept them updated on the timeline. A 2023 customer said that when delivery drivers left materials out in the driveway, Derek left an existing job, moved the materials into the house and returned to his other site. That 2023 customer also said he protected the hardwood floors from scaffolding marks and cleaned every night. A 2022 customer said the company built a custom project from a sketch and painted the room.
A 2025 customer gave two stars, saying the workers had no supervision, the owner was very defensive when called with questions, and someone they had inspect the work said most of it was done against code.
