Fawcett Energy is a Winchester heating oil and HVAC company. Its website claims 132 years in business and a service area running from Boston and the South Shore to Worcester, the South Coast, Cape Cod and Northern RI. One recent Google reviewer called about an AC problem and says scheduling was easy and the service tech fixed the issue immediately. Another, whose family has been with the company for at least 15 years, says Fawcett Energy provided immediate service during a furnace-related heat outage this past winter. A third doubted a 45-minute boiler visit until the service manager explained that Dave had done all the testing and found no issues, and revised the review from 2 to 5 stars. In a 2024 review, a customer described Jimmy troubleshooting an expansion tank issue and then replacing it. Oil prices are where customers push back hardest. A 2026 review from a customer of 20 years who had just cancelled put the per-gallon price on the last bill about 25% higher than a competitor. A recent 1★ reviewer who had asked to be taken off automatic delivery says an oil bill still turned up in the door. Some installs and repairs went badly too. In a 2024 review, a former customer said a tank Fawcett installed in 2021 was leaking oil three years later, and that the company refused to fix it after the customer stopped buying its oil. A separate 2024 review describes techs coming 7 times within 3 weeks and replacing the low pressure cut off three times, with a bill of around $2,000 knocked down to $1,400 after the customer complained. In 2025, a Boston Globe article reported, citing a city official, that a Fawcett Energy truck pumped about 385 gallons of heating oil into a Medford home, flooding its basement.
“if these are the rates that everyone is getting from Fawcett I can't imagine anyone is going to stick wrth them.”
“it feels wildly more expensive than anything I'm seeing on that New England Oil site, the only thing I can think of is that it's because it's Fawcett and they're in trouble.”
“I have Fawcett and my latest bill (from just today) was $4.8990 per gallon, which is WAY higher than the others that I'm seeing”
“I think he’s more concerned fawcett is going to go under based on the comment on cost.”
“I got a mailer from fawcett today!”
“A fornecedora, Fawcett Energy, deveria abastecer uma residência em Malden, mas acabou parando por engano em outra casa, a 16 quilômetros dali, em Medford.”
“On Monday, a Fawcett Energy truck pumped about 385 gallons of heating oil into a Medford home, flooding its basement, a city official said.”
“so I called Fawcett Energy, our oil company. (Aside — they’ve been great to work with over the years). They told me they don’t send someone out to read the oil tank, and that I needed to stop by the house and read the gauge myself.”
My family has been with Fawcett Energy for at least 15 years. In addition to reliable fuel delivery, the public relations have been outstanding. Also this past winter we had a furnace related heat outage, and Fawcett Energy provided immediate service.
The technician did a Great job!! Polite, courteous and knowledgeable.
The technician that cleaned the boiler was very good and did an excellent job.
We've been a customer since they merged with Noars oil. We receive consistent, excellent service. Auto fill, and have never had occasion to call for oil. They send reminders for cleaning, as well. On the rare occasion that we've needed service, it's been quick, and thorough.
We've always had excellent luck with faucet energy. They're responsive. Their service is second to none. Not to mention how competent the technicians and office staff are. You can't go wrong. Don't turn off your faucet. Go with faucet
