Fire & Ice HVAC, LLC is a two-person-facing Boston HVAC outfit — technicians Arthur (also called Artie) and Jon — that's built a five-star run stretching back to 2021, the kind of record where the same two names keep showing up across dozens of reviews. The through-line is speed under pressure: reviewers repeatedly describe a system failing at the worst possible moment — a heat wave, a holiday weekend, the night before the hottest day of the year — and getting a same-day fix. A May 2026 review describes an AC that died at 7:30 p.m.; Arthur emailed back by 6:15 the next morning and had it running by 4 p.m. A June 2025 review recounts a thermostat wiring problem that turned out bigger than expected, with Arthur walking the customer through phone options before sending Jon out within two hours. Older reviews tell similar stories: in a 2024 review, a customer describes a furnace fixed during a cold snap at the start of the pandemic, and in another 2024 review, a rooftop condo AC unit was repaired for $2,800 after other companies had quoted $17,000–$20,000 to replace it. A 2022 review describes a mini-split system — one outdoor unit and four indoor units — installed in a single day. The company says on its site it's been in business since 2008 and has received the Angie's List Super Service Award every year since 2010, and it's come up favorably a handful of times in r/boston HVAC recommendation threads. Not every account is glowing. A 2022 review calls the company "a complete scam," describing being directed to a specific chimney company after a boiler inspection, which the customer says found nothing seriously wrong on inspection — worth asking about directly. A separate 2022 review is a terse note about still waiting on an install. For a homeowner comparing HVAC options in Boston, the pattern here is a small, name-recognized crew reviewers keep calling back for emergencies and larger installs alike over the years.

“I've had good luck with Fire and Ice HVAC. They serviced our equipment even though they didn't install it, the technicians were nice and professional, and prices seemed reasonable. Haven't used them a ton though, full disclosure.”
Cannot recommend these guys enough. Our AC went out around 7:30 PM and I emailed them that night. Arthur got back to me at 6:15 AM the next morning, called to confirm the appointment by 6:30 AM, and had our AC fixed by 4 PM the same day. Arthur was incredibly knowledgeable, explained everything clearly, and got the work done quickly. Really appreciate the responsiveness and professionalism. We’ll absolutely be using them again in the future.
Artie was great!! Will be my go to for future HVAC needs.
You don't usually get an HVAC team that is really good at what they do, AND has great customer service, AND is trustworthy, AND is reasonably priced. We've had Arthur and Jon come out several times over the years, and every single time it's been a great experience. And every single time they've managed to solve our problem.
2025 review: same amazing service as in the past (I've had them tune up my boiler in years past) & this year my boiler/radiator system needed more work, due to subpar work by a contracted plumber during a renovation over the summer. This was a bigger job and Jon informed me it would require a team of 2, explained what was needed (including replacement parts) & reviewed pricing before any work was done. Arthur was nearby, got to my home quickly and together they got the job done easily & efficiently. I very much appreciate how reliable, thorough & quickly they work; it gives me the peace of mind of a job well done. Now I have heat again! 2022 review: Arthur of Fire & Ice did an excellent job servicing my boiler, which hadn't been cleaned in years. Service was professional, prompt and very thorough. I highly recommend!
Arty is always very quick to respond and come to the house if there’s a problem. Usually same day. I feel like they diagnosis things quickly and repair them with parts they often have in the truck. I trust his advice and judgement!
