A homeowner called about an outdoor hose spigot that had stopped working. Someone was there the next morning, and the problem was diagnosed and fixed inside 30 minutes. That is the size and speed of most Fixer jobs — the small repairs and odd tasks around an Arlington, Massachusetts house — and two names run through the reviews: Nik and John. The company's Thumbtack profile lists handyman work, moving, cleaning, assembly and event support, and puts the business at a year old. What they get hired for is usually a to-do list. In an August 2026 review, a customer counted caulking, HVAC, wall mounting and a door repair all finished in one day. Another had gutters fixed so water stopped coming into the basement; a third had a large hole in a wall patched and painted over; one customer has had a living room coffee table restored, a television mounted and a Roku set up. A failing basement door in a 100-year-old house is a fair test of a handyman: the homeowner wrote that they got back quickly, came out to work out the best solution, and had the door working again. Several reviewers mention arriving on time, and one who has used them on a few projects called them punctual, respectful and fairly priced, with everything left clean afterward. Moving is the second line of work. One customer hired them to bring furniture over from a friend's house and haul away old pieces, and described careful work in both homes at a reasonable cost. In an October 2025 review, a customer said the crew showed up on time for a move with their own pads and equipment; in an August 2025 review, another said Nik was quick but careful with the furniture. The counts are still modest: a 5.0 average across 15 Google ratings, and 4.7 from seven ratings on Thumbtack, where the spread includes a three-star. Thumbtack also shows nine projects and describes the company as background-checked. For a list of small jobs — drywall to patch, a door that sticks, a television to mount, furniture to move across town — this is a straightforward call. Give them the whole list when you book, since reviewers describe several tasks knocked out in a single visit, and settle what the trip will cost before the work starts.
