Forbes & Sons Painting & Staining

Restoring the hallways and ceilings of a 140-year-old home involved more than painting. In an April 2025 Google review, a customer described Forbes & Sons protecting floors, repairing cracks and smoothing rough areas in old plaster walls before painting. The customer said the team quoted a ten-day schedule and finished in six days, without inventing charges beyond the original estimate. They also praised Brad Forbes’s communication, reasonable prices and the crew’s care in keeping the home tidy. Forbes & Sons Painting & Staining says it has been in business for 30 years. Its website describes interior and exterior painting along with sheetrock and drywall repair, and names a service area including Agawam, Amherst, Chicopee, Holyoke, Northampton and nearby Massachusetts towns. It offers free estimates and states that it provides 24/7 emergency service. Its BBB description also lists wallpaper removal, staining and plaster repairs; HomeAdvisor lists light carpentry repairs and polyurethaning among its offerings. A May 2026 Google reviewer said Brad and his crew painted both the interior and exterior of their house. The customer praised their care, attention to detail and willingness to explain things, as well as the finished appearance. A September 2025 reviewer described careful preparation before house staining, communication throughout the project and timely completion. Smaller painting jobs also appear in the customer accounts: Martha Skiba’s February 2025 review described a bedroom painting job, saying Brad did what he had promised and finished in a timely manner. A July 2023 customer who hired Brad for exterior trim painting praised his attention to detail, communication and price, and said his crew was respectful and neat. In a May 2022 review, a homeowner described Brad responding promptly to provide an estimate for painting the entire exterior, followed by work the customer praised at a reasonable price. A January 2026 reviewer said arranging a quote appointment was easy and the team arrived promptly on the day of the job. Google showed a 4.7-star average from 35 ratings in September 2026. The business has an A+ BBB grade. Brad Forbes’s Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 190875, is active according to the state registry.
