Franklin Tile Carpet One Floor & Home is the Franklin, MA flooring shop people turn to for the trickiest part of a renovation: actually picking the tile, carpet or hardwood. Review after review names a specific staffer — Sandy, Jenn, Arthur, Sara, Emily among them — who walked a customer through choosing a bathroom tile, a basement carpet, or a whole-house refloor, and the same names keep recurring across years of reviews. The company describes itself as family-owned across multiple generations and operates as the Franklin location of the Carpet One flooring cooperative, selling and installing hardwood, luxury vinyl, carpet, tile and laminate. (Its own site gives two different founding years on different pages — 1987 and 1993 — so treat either as approximate.) On Google, where it holds a 4.5-star average from 74 ratings, the pattern from 2021 through mid-2026 is consistent: homeowners describe finish selections that came together quickly and installers who showed up on time. In a 2025 review, a customer said Sandy sourced replacement flooring the same day after a contractor's own order arrived streaky and mismatched. Pricing is the one recurring friction worth flagging. In a 2024 review, a customer said they were charged close to double the expected rate for a small job and called the service poor, and reviews from 2021 and 2023 separately said prices ran high next to other quotes. A 2023 review about a full first-floor refloor also said the engineered hardwood delivered had dents and scraping, below what was expected. For selecting finishes and getting a straightforward install, this is a shop with a long, specific track record of named praise — but it's worth asking for a firm written estimate up front, and inspecting engineered-hardwood material before it goes down, given at least one account of a flawed batch.

I am having a basement finished and needed to make selections for tile (bathroom floor and shower) and for basement flooring. Though many think making these choices is the "fun" part, for me, it is the "high anxiety" part. I was referred to Sandy Sauer and she was beyond what I could have hoped for as a sales person. I was able to provide enough information about the project, my style and the basic colors and she (without actually holding my hand) magically whittled down the universe of options to several that were consistent with the information I shared. Her assistance was invaluable to me, making what felt like a high stress situation feel completely manageable. I felt great about my tile selections and my flooring selection. Sandy was professional, friendly, informative and willing to share her input without seeming overbearing or indifferent - a tough line to walk. I highly recommend Franklin Tile and though Sandy will always be my favorite salesperson, I feel confident that all of the staff have the knowledge and competence to help any customer make their need selections. Their showroom provides customers with numerous options and the space to fully explore selections. For anyone who views the selection process as "high stress," this is the place for you. For those who know what they want, the options are numerous and the staff are equipped to help you with your process.
Always a great experience. Very helpful and have quality products.
Great staff that was very helpful in selecting the tile and grout for my backsplash. Pleasurevwotking with you.
Sandy saved the day. Our contractor had purchased floors from somewhere else and when they arrived they were not good, super streaky and mismatched coloring. Went to FCTO and Sandy was able to get us new, great looking floors the same day!
