Fifty-two Google ratings averaging five stars is the first number worth knowing about Gallagher Painting — and the reviews behind that number describe the same thing over and over: a responsive owner and a crew that shows up when they say they will. Mike Gallagher started the company in 2015 after working for painting companies in New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, and now runs it as a family-owned, owner-operated business out of Stow, doing interior and exterior residential and commercial painting across the Greater Boston and MetroWest area. In a May 2026 review, a homeowner said Mike stayed punctual and communicative through a tight scheduling window and held the same timeline even after the job grew, calling the final result "perfect." The range of work described across its reviews is wide: a 2025 review describes painting a stucco foundation and steps; a 2024 review describes repairing and repainting water-damaged ceilings in a synagogue's sanctuary and social hall after a roof leak; a 2023 review describes treating and removing two years of mildew buildup from a garage's interior walls and ceiling; and a 2023 review describes an exterior repaint that made a 102-year-old colonial "look brand new." A 2022 reviewer had Gallagher paint kitchen and bathroom cabinets and called the pricing reasonable. The company says it works Stow, Concord, Wayland, Sudbury, Acton, Lexington, Belmont, Cambridge, Arlington, Winchester, Maynard, Hudson, Marlborough, Framingham, and Natick, and its HomeAdvisor listing adds drywall repair, wallpaper removal, and cabinet refinishing to the painting work its Google reviews describe. It's a strong call for anything from a single room to a full exterior repaint, including trickier jobs like historic homes or water-damaged ceilings — the main thing left to confirm is current scheduling and a written quote for the specific scope of the job.
Working with Mike was a great experience. We scheduled in advance because we only had a very small window to work with, and Mike was very punctual and communicative. He even managed to keep the same timeline when we added additional work. The final product was perfect!
Mike and his team were easy to work with and did a great job. Mike's communication was awesome!
We worked with Mike on an issue with our ceiling. He was patient, willing to deal with another party who was handling the damages, and willing to come back and fix an issue that arose with a difference in paint sheen. Overall, Gallagher painting was fabulous at every step and we would absolutely use again. Thank you!
We did both an interior and exterior paint job with Mike at Gallagher painting. We had a fantastic experience. His prices are reasonable, his crew is lovely and the finished product was perfect. Will be using him in the future and recommending him to friends/family.
We had a fantastic experience with Gallagher Painting. Mike was responsive, kind, and extremely professional throughout the entire process. His team painted several rooms in our new home, and they did an exceptional job. Not only was the quality of the work excellent (precise lines, great coverage, and beautiful color matching), but the team also went out of their way to make the process smooth for us. They provided the paint, helped match custom colors, and provided a high-level of customer service. The crew was efficient, courteous, and careful with our space. Everything was left spotless at the end of each day. We would absolutely hire Gallagher Painting again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality painters in the area.
