Most of the trees GN Brothers gets called about are in the wrong place — leaning on a neighbor's fence, hanging over a roof, or standing in ground a truck can't easily get to. The Lynn, Massachusetts company describes itself as a local, family-owned business and says it has been at this 15 years. Half a dozen reviewers write about Gerber by name; by their accounts, he runs the crew. Google sits at 4.5 stars across 35 ratings, and the written accounts run back to 2019. In June 2026, a customer had a big tree taken down in a tight space against the fence bordering the neighbor's property, and described a crew that was responsive from the first outreach, showed up on time and worked efficiently once onsite. In a 2025 review, a homeowner needed a dead tree out of the middle of a construction project on short notice and got it. In a 2022 review, a customer counted eleven pines — three of them very big — down in around three hours, from ground beside wetland they called difficult to approach. A dozen reviews across Google, Angi and Houzz end on the same detail: the yard or site was clean when the crew left. Price is the other thing customers keep bringing up — "very competitive" in July 2026, "very reasonable" in that 2022 review, "fair" in a 2021 Angi review. A few things to settle before you book. The July 2026 review that stopped at four stars says why: the heavy crane driven onto the lawn left a rut, and the customer wrote that Gerber kept missing appointments to come back and fix it. A one-star review in September 2022 complained about a wood chipper running at 6 a.m. on a Saturday in a populated residential neighborhood. And a 2021 Angi review is a single line — never showed up. If your job is a removal that needs a crane, or a tree wedged between a fence and a house, that's the work customers describe them doing again and again. Crane service, stump grinding, trimming and 24-hour emergency work are listed on the company's own site and on both Angi and HomeAdvisor, which also list a Massachusetts Arborist Association certification and Spanish-speaking service. Its Better Business Bureau page is an A+; the BBB lists the company as non-accredited and notes it claims to be fully bonded and insured. Before the truck rolls, settle who protects the lawn if the crane comes onto it, put a date on any repair that follows, and ask for the insurance certificate.
Good seirves
The tree cutting work was amazing and Gerber is super nice. The price is also very competitive! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that Gerber kept missing appointments to fix a rut left on my lawn by the heavy crane they drove onto it. I had no problem with the rut happening, I just wanted them to put some loam on it, which he agreed to do. However, he missed appointment after appointment—four in total. He did finally show up on the fifth try. Again, the actual tree work is great, but please work on keeping your promises and sticking to the schedule.
So impressed! Had a big tree cut down in a tight space (on the fence boarding the neighbor's property right next to my house). Very responsive and professional from my 1st outreach. Showed up on time and worked efficiently once onsite. Cleaned up and even took care of a large brush pile we had created trimming some smaller, lower branches in our yard. Super reasonably priced. Could not be happier with the work. Thank you GN Brothers!
great job! left the site clean; friendly team!
Gerber helped us remove a dead tree in the middle of a construction project. They worked fast and efficiently and were able to accommodate on short notice. Thanks.
