Good Window Works exists to fix windows instead of replacing them — the whole business is built around that pitch. The company says it started in Boston in 2017, family-owned, after watching homeowners get pushed into six-figure replacement jobs when a repair would have done the job. It's based at Liberty Square in Boston and works across Massachusetts into southern New Hampshire, holding an active Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration and an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. The written record, mostly 2019 and 2020 reviews on Angi and HomeAdvisor with one as recent as 2023, tells a consistent story about a technician named Yuriy: he shows up when scheduled, diagnoses the problem on the spot, and finishes in one visit. In a 2019 review, he fixed a stuck double-hung window the same afternoon before a condo showing; in a 2020 review, a homeowner had eleven windows repaired after other contractors said the parts couldn't be found. Julia, credited by name in more than one review for handling scheduling, comes up almost as often as the hands-on work does. In a March 2026 Reddit thread, a poster described paying about $500 a window to replace just the glass rather than take on a six-figure full-enclosure project — which sums up the pitch in one anecdote. The one dissent on record is a single 2019 Angi review, rated 3.5 stars, that reads only "timely and honest" with no complaint attached. More worth noting: the detailed reviews cluster in the company's first two or three years, so it's fair to ask whether Yuriy and the same core team are still doing the on-site work today. It's the right call for salvageable wood, vinyl or aluminum windows and doors — rotten sash, foggy glass, a screen that needs rebuilding, hardware that's stuck — rather than a full-house window replacement, which isn't really what they do.
“I used Good Window Works and they were able to replace just the glass for about $500 a window rather than me having to do a six figure project for the full enclosure.”
I would highly recommend this company! I have an older home and they repaired all of my original double hung windows. Each window had different issues I contacted them and they came and did an estimate for the work. They also explained exactly what work would be done. They were very thorough and transparent. They did the estimate in the fall and the work was scheduled in the spring. They came on the date that was scheduled, amazing! They were extremely reliable, and showed up for all work as scheduled. They did beautiful work. It is such a pleasure to be able to open all my windows!. The business is very well run, very professional. From the lovely woman in the office to the gentlemen that came to work at the house, they were all terrific. I can't say enough about this company and the quality of their work.
Well done job
Fast and curtious.
I needed new screens for almost every room in the house. I also had them install a slider. They did a great job and the price was very reasonable. Did all the work in one day right on the premises.
Great job on a tough job....
