Granite State Plumbing & Heating is a Weare mechanical contractor whose own website is aimed squarely at institutions: commercial HVAC, commercial and industrial plumbing, mechanical systems design, CAD/BIM and preventative maintenance for assisted living, healthcare, schools, manufacturing, offices and utilities. Homeowner service appears nowhere on it. Its New Hampshire mechanical business licence is active, held in the company's own name. The reviews describe a different set of callers. A customer of 13 years wrote in April 2026 about needing a hot water tank replaced on short notice: John came out to assess it, explained the work, got the order placed, and a technician handled the installation and cleaned up the aging water lines. In April 2025, someone with a bad late-night plumbing failure said a technician — Julian, they thought — was dispatched at 10:30 at night to their apartment near Pinkerton in Derry, and later rang back to make sure nothing had gone wrong after an accidental hang-up. In January 2026, a person struggling to shovel with a bad wrist and back wrote that a passing Granite State employee stopped and cleared the snow with his four-wheeler. The one complaint on file is about reach: a January 2023 reviewer said several emails and calls went unanswered. The company says it was founded by Gerry Perron and incorporated in April 1983, passed through a series of larger owners from 1990 onward, and is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Comfort Systems USA, with Ken Duchesne as CEO. Google shows 4.9 stars across 20 ratings, and BBB lists an A+ on a profile that is not accredited. If you manage a building, this is straightforwardly their trade. If you are a homeowner, the company markets no residential service even though several reviewers plainly received it — so ask whether they take household work before counting on them, and expect getting a call returned to be the first hurdle.

We’ve been clients of Granite State for over 13 years, and they have consistently been outstanding. Most recently, we needed to replace our hot water tank on short notice, and they responded immediately by sending John over to assess the situation. From the start, John was a pleasure to work with—extremely knowledgeable, professional, and thorough in explaining everything. He helped us quickly get the order placed and scheduled a technician to handle the installation and clean up our aging water lines. During the installation, we had an issue on our end with a water shut-off (completely our mistake), which resulted in John and Gabe getting unexpectedly soaked. Despite that, they handled it with total composure, maintained a great attitude, and kept working until the job was done. Their professionalism, patience, and kindness truly stood out. I had a pretty nasty plumbing issue late at night. I got a call from Granite State and they dispatched someone late that evening at 10:30. I want to say his name was Julian. He came to my apartment near Pinkerton in Derry and was very polite, very helpful and overall very urgent. On top of that, I accidentally called him today, but hung up immediately. He then made sure to call me back and check up on me to make sure nothing had gone wrong. That is above and beyond service! Thank you very much!
