Gray Co is a plumbing and HVAC shop Michael Gray says he started in 2002, running today as an LLC with roughly 26 employees per its Better Business Bureau profile (BBB itself lists a January 2007 start date instead). The website places its office in Billerica, though a Bedford address also appears on file. The strongest recurring theme in its reviews is emergency-scale heating work. In a 2022 review, a boiler that died five days before Christmas was pulled out and replaced, with the new system running before the holiday. In a 2021 review, a customer described calling Monday morning for a furnace replacement, getting a same-day check and a quote the next day, and having the crew on-site and finished by Thursday morning, cleaning up after themselves. On Nextdoor, a neighbor recently named Mike directly, saying the shop is busy but always makes room for them. Not every account is positive. A 2024 review describes trouble getting duplicate charges resolved by phone, and a 2025 review reports one of the company's trucks tailgating and yelling at another driver on the highway - a conduct complaint rather than a workmanship one, but a real one. Google shows the business at 4.1 stars from 13 ratings, and BBB (not an accredited business) grades it A+. The site says the company is fully licensed and insured but doesn't publish a license number. Worth confirming which office you'd actually be dealing with, and getting billing terms in writing, before booking.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Gray Co. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.

“Mike at Gray Co https://www.graycoplumbingandheating.com/ use my name. They are very busy but always fit me in, do a great job”
One of their truck drivers harassed and tailgated us on the highway for no apparent reason. He then followed us and yelled at us through his window 🙂
They keep sending me bills I already paid. I cannot get anyone on the phone to resolve this. I will update this review if the situation changes.
Great service, great employees, great company.
100% satisfied with quality of work. Speed of work and professionalism. Top notch. Not the cheapest.... not most expensive... but you get exactly what you pay for.
The Grays are amazing. Expert, kind, timely, trustworthy, consultative. Our boiler died 5 days before Christmas. They ripped the old one out, installed a new system, so fast - we were back up and running before the holidays. Thank you Gray & Co! Would recommend them for any HVAC or plumbing issue.
