A homeowner in June had cabinet installers booked for the following week and a bare 1920s oak floor that had to be sanded first. GS Hardwood Floors had a crew on site within three days, quoted what the customer called a reasonable price for the room size, checked in as the work progressed, and brought the antique oak back to life in time. That is the shape of most of what people say about this Canton-based flooring shop: they install and refinish, and they move when the schedule is tight. The work spans hardwood installation, prefinished and laminate flooring, vinyl plank, sanding and refinishing, plus floor repairs. Directory entries also list tile, carpet and linoleum work. The reputation runs partly through other builders. General contractors and construction firms describe using them as their regular hardwood subcontractor across projects, which is a different kind of endorsement than a one-off homeowner review — trades that have to stand behind the finish keep calling back. Confirm which office and number is current, and — since no license or insurance claim appears anywhere in what they publish — ask for a certificate of insurance and their Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration in writing. Good fit if you need hardwood sanded, refinished, or installed on a real deadline. Get the scope and price in writing, as the reviewers who were happiest did.

I needed help sanding a solid oak floor in my daughter’s 1920 home. We had carpenters scheduled to install cabinets within a week and had a very narrow window to get the floor sanded. GS Hardwood Floors came to my rescue and were able to get a team on site within 3 days. Their quote was very reasonable for the size of room. The team arrived on time and got straight to work. They checked in with me frequently to ensure I was happy with their work as it progressed. The results were fabulous. The antique oak was brought back to life and the flooring looked spectacular. We cannot wait to get the finish on it. The team cleaned the room spotless. No dust for me to wipe up in or outside of the room. I can’t recommend them highly enough. Highly recommend! I found GS Hardwood Floors through a google search and they did not disappoint. Gil and Vanessa were great to work with, and they were able to accelerate their timeline to accommodate out move in date. We recently moved into a new home and wanted to refinish some floors (which they did a beautiful job doing). When they came out for an estimate we also asked for a quote to install new hardwood in a hallway. We decided to go with both projects, and the floors came out better than we could have imagined. Quality work at a very reasonable price. I’ll finish how I started. Highly recommend!!!!
