John Dolan Flooring, Kitchen and Bath has been remodeling kitchens and bathrooms out of the same Canton Center showroom since 1962, when John Dolan Sr. and his wife Gail started the business; the company says it has run from Canton showrooms across 64 years since. It's still family-run today, with John Dolan Jr. as owner alongside several of the founders' children, an in-law, and two grandchildren, and it works as general contractor on full kitchen and bathroom remodels — bringing in licensed electricians, plumbers, and plasterers as a project needs — while also installing the cabinetry, countertops, tile, and flooring it sells through its showroom. It says it serves Canton, Westwood, and Sharon and the broader South Shore, holds an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, and its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration — held under the corporate name John Dolan Vinyl & Carpet Corp — is active.
Repeat business shows up again and again in what customers describe: a 2023 HomeAdvisor review was from a customer on a third renovation with the Dolans, and a 2024 review says the reviewer had hired them for three earlier projects, including two bathrooms and a basement. Caroline Dolan-Eckler is credited with cabinet layouts and design choices on several kitchen jobs from 2023 through 2025, and Lorraine Dolan-Davis is named for keeping estimates and scheduling on track. In 2023, one reviewer's downstairs bathroom gut renovation finished in the promised four weeks and on budget, and a HomeAdvisor reviewer that same year said a half-bath redo came in faster than quoted. In a January 2026 review, a homeowner called John Dolan direct and thorough in his evaluations after a master bath remodel, and a 2025 review describes a kitchen job with a few early bumps that John Dolan and his son John Jr. resolved quickly. Its most recent review, from this summer, again praised the quality of the finished work.
Before booking, a few older reviews matter. A 2022 review said the crew did good-quality work but started a kitchen job before pulling a permit or notifying the town, and found the cleanup lacking. Another 2022 review, from a customer whose kitchen remodel a decade earlier had gone well, said a follow-up bathroom job moved more slowly and had rougher results. A different 2022 review described a missed appointment at the showroom. Two 2018 reviews, on Houzz and Angi, described estimates that grew with items the customer hadn't asked for and called the pricing steep. None of these repeat in the reviews from the past few years.
This is a strong call for a full kitchen or bathroom remodel where in-house design help matters, especially for homeowners who want one company managing cabinets, counters, tile, and the trades that go with them. Get the permit process spelled out up front and the full scope of work in writing before signing, given the one account where that step slipped.
