Guardian Mechanical Services is a one-person refrigeration and HVAC shop on Holton Street in Lawrence, run by Kurt Barnes, and the customers who found it liked what they got — four Google reviews, all five stars, all from 2024. The most useful of them describes a boiler replacement with an auto-water feed: the problem explained in detail, the work done at a fair price, and the customer still pleased four months later. Others mention furnace work, annual maintenance, and a heat-wave callout. Nothing new has been posted since 2024, so this is a small, thinly reviewed record rather than a long track record. Two things are worth pinning down before you call. The company's own site says it has served Greater Boston for over 15 years, but its own footer reads "EST. 2023" and its BBB profile lists the LLC as started 22 May 2023 with one employee and three years in business — so the 15-year claim does not match the paperwork. The BBB grade is A+, though the company is not BBB accredited, and the site's promise of 24/7 on-call service and coverage across four Massachusetts counties is a lot of ground for a single-technician operation. If you have a boiler, furnace, or refrigeration problem in the Lawrence area, this is a reasonable call — the reviews that exist are specific and positive about exactly that work. Ask who will actually be on site, get the response-time promise in writing if you are relying on the 24/7 line, and ask for the current Massachusetts licence details before booking.

Boiler replaced – Excellent job done! Kurt is knowledgeable, patient, friendly and professional. The problem was explained in detail and the boiler replacement with an auto-water feed [a must have] was done efficiently at a fair price. 4-months later, I remain grateful and pleased with the work performed!
