H&R Roofing's permit trail says plainly what it does: 58 permitted jobs on BuildZoom, roughly 30 of them in the past three years, most of them strip-and-re-roof work on Framingham houses at a typical permit value near $14,845. Ronaldo Solano is named as the owner on both its BBB page and BuildZoom, with Adriana Solano listed as co-owner and responsible person. The company says it has been roofing for 20 years, out of Framingham.
The written customer history is real, and it is dated. Four Porch reviews run from November 2016 to December 2017. In the December 2017 one, a homeowner said a full roof on a house over 100 years old went on in a single day and the crew cleaned the property afterward. A 2016 customer who had a barn roofed and sided wrote that the final price came in at the estimate. Another that year, in Wellesley, described the sales rep arriving on a day's notice to measure and walk through options, timing and price. Porch publishes a 4.97 average across 283 aggregated online reviews, though the four accounts it prints in full are all from 2016 and 2017.
What came later changes the picture. In March 2024 the Hopkinton Independent reported that the Hopkinton couple who operate this Framingham roofing and construction business were arrested and charged in connection with separate schemes to defraud their workers' compensation insurance carriers, the Small Business Administration and their mortgage lender. Insurance trade coverage that same month reported the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Massachusetts alleged they avoided more than $627,000 in workers' comp premiums by underreporting payroll and paying workers through a shell company, and the MetroWest Daily News reported a federal grand jury returned counts of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire and bank fraud. Those are charges as reported at the indictment stage, not findings — but workers' compensation coverage on a job site is a homeowner's question too, so ask about it directly.
Two smaller things to pin down. Its BBB profile is unaccredited and currently Not Rated, with the file listed as being reviewed or updated. And no registration here has been checked against the state registry: BuildZoom lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration numbered 199030 as active and a second, 212255, as inactive, while the company's own site prints two different numbers, 101027 and 152206.
For a straightforward Framingham-area re-roof, the work homeowners described in 2016 and 2017 was quick and tidy, and the permit volume since says they are still doing it steadily. Before signing anything, ask for a current certificate of workers' compensation and liability insurance naming you, and confirm the registration number yourself with the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation.

H&R roofing did an OUTSTANDING job putting a new roof on my home that is over 100 years old on December 18, 2017. Mauricio and his crew were very professional and courteous. I couldn't believe it was all done in one day. They cleaned up all over my property when the work was completed. Frankly it was eye-opening and we went to great lengths to validate what he had explained - which was all 100% spot on. In turn, we hired a Certified Roofing company that is providing their customers with real iron-clad warranties vs the tail-light version almost everyone else gets without knowing it. Just google these guys, they have the best ratings we could find and we now know why! We have two other properties that we have already hired them to restore and passed their name onto three others who have hired them as well with more on the way. I wouldnt hire anyone else even if the work were being completed for free!! Their work is beautiful, crew is polite and courteous, clean-up was excellent, and pricing was competitive - I mean what else could anyone ask for? Hire H&R, you'll be glad you did! Angel and his team at H&R Roofing and Siding did a fantastic job on roofing and siding of our barn. They were quick to call, arrive for an estimate and communication was very good. The final price was the estimated price and Angel was open to and asked for feedback immediately. His team came back to finish up a couple of last details before final payment. I would definitely hire them again in a heartbeat!
Overall : Outstanding job by H&R Roofing /Very satisfied/Highly recommended. Planning: Angel, the sales rep, came to our house in Wellesley on a day’s notice. Took initial measurements , explained the options and gave us a good idea on timing and prices. Angel kept a great, fluid and friendly communication at all stages of the project. One day after his initial visit, we got the final quotation using a vey sophisticated aerial calculation using public records of the house. Once we choose the roof material, color, and the skylight to replace our old beaten and leaking one , the project was scheduled to start in less than a week and they were able to match our own timing availability. They brought a dumpster and all the materials the day before of the project start. They showed up early the scheduled day with a crew of 12 people and completed the roof installation that day. They wrapped the house with strong tarps to protect the grass and bushes from any damage. The roof work was awesome, they took care of all technical details : Removal of the old shingles and disposal, change any damaged wood before doing any work; application of the ice and water membrane (6 feet), metal drip edges everywhere, ridge vent, ridge cap, flashing the chimney and the beautiful GAF timberline architectural shingles. Ronaldo, the owner, was at the top of the roof , making sure everything was performed all right and to my satisfaction. They brought a Velux branded oversized skylight which fitted perfectly the space left by the old one. I mention this because we went to Home Depot and we were told that the only skylights available were standard sizes that did not fit our needs. Amazingly, they were able to do this in less than a week. It looks like a small detail but it was a big deal for us. They did a great cleanup job, took all debris, nails and all construction materials from my yard and driveway. Word about cost: It was very fair but also was the best quotation for the labor, materials and also because I wanted the job completed on time to be able to sleep well trough this winter without any worries about leaks, ice, etc. Luis R,
