Ask what Taggart Building & Remodeling is actually good at and the answer keeps landing on tile. Its Google page shows 5 stars from 22 ratings, with 7 more on Thumbtack and 3 on BuildZoom saying much the same, and the jobs people describe are bathrooms rebuilt, showers tiled, kitchens redesigned. Two names run through nearly all of it: Andrew Taggart, whom BBB lists as the owner, and Nelson, whom customers mention nearly as often. The work runs wider than bathrooms, though. A customer who hired them in late summer 2025 had them gut a first-floor bathroom and finish a partially finished basement against a hard deadline. In November 2025 another described 2,000 square feet of metal roof going onto their house; in October 2025, a full prep-and-paint interior job; in December 2025, three spaces re-tiled in a new condo. Front steps and a walkway went in this past June. What comes up almost as often as the finish work is how they handle money. A February 2025 BuildZoom reviewer wrote that Andrew suggested LVT on the bathroom floor so the budget could stretch to tile in the shower — that shape of advice, rather than an upsell, recurs. The one rating below five, from September 2025, is itself a quiet endorsement: the customer opens by admitting they were wary of how young Andrew looked, and closes saying they were fully satisfied after a couple of small jobs around the house. The thing to weigh is the calendar. BBB records the business as starting in January 2025 with one employee, and the A- grade there is attributed to exactly that — length of time in business, not any complaint history. BuildZoom's permit records show three permitted projects in 2025, in Framingham and Natick, valued between $8,000 and $45,000: a modest paper trail for a company taking on full remodels. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, 214623, is active. The construction supervisor licence CSFA-106697 shows up in the BuildZoom and BBB listings; confirm that one with the state yourself. For a bathroom or kitchen where the tile is what you'll look at every day, the reviews are consistent about both the work and the care taken with the house around it. For anything structural or larger, ask to see finished projects at that scale, and get the supervisor licence and the $1,000,000 liability policy BuildZoom lists confirmed in writing before you sign.
Andrew and his team did a fantastic job and we couldn’t be happier. He was very concerned that we loved the completed effort and was willing to make any and all adjustments to make it perfect. Highly recommend and would absolutely go back to Taggart for our next project.
I hired Taggart Building & Remodeling at the end of last summer (2025) to completely gut and remodel our 1st floor bathroom, and to remodel and completely finish our partially finished basement. We had a tight timeline to complete the job in time for my daughter's 10 year old sleepover birthday party in the finished basement in early October. Andrew & Nelson did a great job with communication and shared their recommended supplier relationships with us, which made it easy for us to shop for finishes including tile, bathroom fixtures, countertops, and carpeting. They did a good job protecting the rest of the house during demolition. They brought in top notch subcontractors including plumbing, electrical, plastering, carpet, and especially tiling. We had a fairly complicated tile design in the bathroom that we had worked on with Carl Garland at The Tile Shop in Natick, and Taggart's tile guy delivered the install with beauty and precision! As with any project, there were issues that popped up throughout the project. Andrew & Nelson were always responsive to questions and concerns and were able to resolve any issues to our satisfaction. They also had great suggestions for improvements as the project continued. We especially love the shower niche, the basement built-in storage, and the finishing on the basement support columns and beams. In the end, they completed the project in time for the party, and we are very happy with the results! After the job was complete, it took me a little too long to return our extra tile supplies to The Tile Shop and our return was denied. Nelson took it upon himself to take care of this for us, getting us a $350 refund for the returned tile. Overall a very good experience, and I would hire them again.
Taggart Building and Remodeling did a wonderful job on my brand new steps and walkway! The stairs and the walkway are utterly gorgeous! Thank you so much!
Andrew completed a couple of projects for me on a property that I manage. Andrew was responsive, accommodating, and great to work with. Not to mention, the quality of work was top notch. 100% recommend.
Andrew and his team did an amazing job remodeling our bathroom shower. He was a great communicator, quick to reply and explain the process. The work itself is high quality, and the finished shower looks fantastic. A reliable contractor who delivers quality results. Very pleased!
