Halco Kitchen & Bath says it started in Malden in 1946 as a custom cabinet shop and is now a third-generation, family-owned design-build company run by Tyler Procopio and Tim Procopio Jr. Kitchens dominate what people write about them: ten of the fifteen written Google reviews describe one, and the job is usually the whole room rather than a cabinet swap. A February 2022 reviewer had the kitchen moved out of a galley into a different room and a new master bathroom carved out of three small closets, with Kelly as their designer. In an August 2024 review, a homeowner ticked off everyone who turned up — the designer, the project manager, plumbers, electricians, carpenters — and said they came when they said they would and finished the work on time. Schedule comes up again in a February 2026 review of a full kitchen renovation, which credits the team with staying on schedule. On Google the company averages 4.4 across 29 ratings. A July 2022 reviewer pulled into the Malden showroom on a whim, set up a consultation with Jarod and Tyler, and had them come out to the house to take measurements; the February 2024 reviewer above was handed to a designer named Erin after that first call with Tyler. Its Houzz page shows 30 projects. Halco says it also takes on additions, new construction, and decks and exteriors, and that it works the Boston North area. This is the outfit for a homeowner who wants one company to draw a full kitchen or bathroom and then build it, rather than hiring the trades separately. Ask which designer your project will be assigned to, get the scope and the schedule in writing before demolition starts, and confirm the company's registration and insurance.

We discovered Halco Kitchen & Bath at the Home Show in Wilmington MA in early 2024. After speaking with their crew at the home show for only a few minutes, we could tell they had the same values, integrity, and high standards that we were looking for. They were receptive to our non-traditional kitchen ideas and were excited to bring our vision to life. Everyone, at every phase, showed us patience and respect. The planning and contract negotiation phases went really well with lots of good suggestions, explanations, and communication. Halco’s subcontractors were experts in their trades and were punctual, careful, professional, and cleaned the job site every day. The speed with which our project was completed, despite some unexpected roadblocks, was amazing. They kept us on track with gentle nudges and we rarely had to do the same for them because they were always one step ahead of us. Communication was great, especially with the Buildertrend app. This project exceeded our expectations and we are incredibly pleased with everything they did for us. We will definitely be working with them in the near future when we undertake more home improvements.
Early this year, Halco did an amazing kitchen renovation for us. As a customer, we were very satisfied with the whole process and the result. Their quote was competitive, their design was modern and met every expectations from us. They started the work very soon, and had everything done very efficiently. The entire project was completed largely within the timeline they promised. The manager was very responsive, considerate and easy to work with; the crew was very skillful, and happy to make changes to address our concerns. Overall, we think their workmanship was remarkable.
