Handy Dad Home Solutions is Jason Wertz's owner-operated handyman business in Milton, founded in 2017 after he left government and military construction contracting to spend less time traveling away from his family. Google shows a 4.8-star average from 22 ratings. The reviews describe a wide range of small-to-mid jobs done well: shelving and a custom laundry-room shelf, interior doors and a storm door hung so "everything fits perfectly," painted rooms and refinished hardwood floors, a heavy 150-pound mirror mounted securely, lock and drainage repairs, and full bathroom overhauls including a new shower floor and a living room ceiling. In a 2021 review, a customer credited him with explaining that a full shower gut wasn't actually needed, saving money by installing just a new water pan instead — the kind of judgment call that keeps coming up alongside the praise for tidy, communicative work. The one clear miss on record: a 2022 review describes paying a down payment for a storm door, being told to expect it by January, and then getting no response to texts, calls or emails for weeks afterward. It stands out against an otherwise consistent run of 5-star reviews stretching into 2026, but it's a real account worth weighing. Worth asking directly about current lead times and getting a firm delivery date in writing for any job that involves special-order parts.

“I hired Jason to replace a set of wooden stairs at a rental property I own in Quincy and I couldn't be more pleased with him or the job he did.”
We had a straightforward but annoyingly small job to get done - install shelving and things in a laundry room and custom design a shelf that fit in an awkward spot. Jason nailed it. He also picked up other odd jobs we needed as we realized it across the project. He was timely, professional, communicative, efficient and tidy. He brainstormed with us and had great ideas. Will definitely hire again. I'd like to add, I did have to reach out and initiate contact at times across the process but it was never a problem. As a one man small business, I understood and it did not in any way impact whether or not I would hire again.
Had a great experience working with Jason. He did an excellent job hanging two interior doors and installing a storm door. Everything fits perfectly and works smoothly. He also painted a few rooms and refinished our entryway hardwood floors which came out beautifully and completely refreshed the space. His workmanship was high-quality. He paid close attention to detail and he left the area clean when he was done. He was professional, reliable, and easy to communicate with throughout the project. I’m very happy with the results and would absolutely hire Jason again or recommend him to others.
Jason is incredible! He was responsive, showed up on time, and did great work. He hung a myriad of things including shelves, curtain rods and most notably an extremely heavy (150 lb) mirror. I couldn't recommend him enough and will definitely use him again in the future
Jason helped us replace nearly everything in our bathroom! He was great, and our bathroom is so nice now! He's easy to get ahold of and super helpful, and when something went wrong during the process, he fixed it quickly and easily. We are definitely calling him again when we need more work done on the house!
I highly recommend Jason for your home improvements. He was so easy to work with. Responsive, reasonable quote and efficient, quality work.
