HandyAlex MA is a Cambridge-based handyman operation that's been at it for over 10 years, according to its own listings, and its calling card is range: reviewers describe everything from hanging pictures and assembling furniture to installing gutters, sealing a foundation leak, and retiling a bathroom. The reviews lean heavily positive and repeat customers show up again and again — one homeowner wrote in May 2026 that this was their second time using Alex and that 'both times the guys did excellent work,' while another, in April 2026, had two new wooden shed doors built and called the results 'like new.' A big multi-job visit in mid-2025 had the crew (named as Alex and Dmitry) tackle gutters, a roof shingle, a foundation leak, a range hood, a storm door, security cameras, and more in one go — the kind of breadth that shows up again in a January 2026 review praising a careful, seamless ceiling-tile repair. The one real miss on record is electrical: in a March 2026 review, a customer said the technician could hang doors and a smoke detector but 'didn't know anything electrical,' and that a botched fixture install knocked out most of the outlets and lights in the house, requiring an outside electrician to sort out crossed wires. Worth asking directly about electrical scope before handing over anything wired. Angi and HomeAdvisor both list a Massachusetts trade license (#216029, expiring June 2027) for the business, and HomeAdvisor's profile notes it offers free estimates and speaks Spanish. A large batch of these reviews — and a much bigger 143-review, 4.9-star history — also live on Thumbtack under a different business name, Alex Handyman Services, tied to Aleksandr Mikheev; the scheduler (Kate) and technician (Dmitry) named in several reviews match this team, suggesting it's the same operation working under two names. For small-to-midsize repair and installation jobs — furniture, doors, tile, gutters — this is a well-reviewed, versatile call. Just steer anything electrical to a licensed electrician, or ask upfront how they handle that part of the job.

This was the second time using Alex — both times the guys did excellent work. Definitely will be using them for house repairs and new installs in the future!
Alex built two new wooden doors on my shed. The entire shed is like new. I will recommend Alex to my friends and request him again for all of my work!
He was able to hang interior doors and a smoke detector, but didn?t know anything electrical. I needed a couple of fixtures hung up. He messed up the electrical somehow. Most of the outlets and lights no longer worked. I had an electrician come, it took hours for him to figure out what was wrong. The wires were crossed and it messed up everything. Also, my doorbell worked and then it didn?t. I talked with them, but said he was here for 4 hours and that?s what I paid for. I don?t believe it takes that long to hang two doors, a smoke detector and change a towel bar in the bathroom.
We had a great experience with this company; scheduling with Kate was fast and easy and the handyman Dmitry was professional and a great job installing 2 baby gates, an EV charger, drilling in curtain rod and installing door stopper. We would def use them again!
They did a fantastic and thorough job replacing ceiling tiles that had become damaged. Some of the tiles had to be carefully cut and fitted to fit a small area. This was done with great care so that they all looked seamless.
