Handyman Services LLC, run out of North Andover by Steve Grant, gets called for the mix of small jobs and code-driven fixes that don't fit neatly into one trade — a stuck thermostat, a leaky shower, a deck railing that has to pass town inspection by a deadline. Google reviews for the business run from 2021 through late 2024, and BBB gives it an A- despite listing the LLC as formed in January 2024 with two years in business — the two records disagree on how long this operation has actually been running. Most reviews describe specific, resolved jobs: in a 2021 review, a homeowner needed a new shower panel and bathroom faucet for low water pressure and called the fix a clear improvement; another 2021 review describes Steve interrupting a Sunday to install a code-required 36-inch deck railing so a homeowner could keep a permit in compliance before a deadline; in a 2022 review, a customer described a final invoice that came in lower than expected for a job billed hourly. Two 2022 reviews describe the opposite experience — a missed first appointment with no follow-up call, and a separate job where an estimate was promised after a site visit and never arrived. Both describe being unable to reach him afterward. With only a dozen reviews on file and none after 2024, there isn't much recent signal either way — worth confirming he's still taking on work and getting a firm timeline in writing before booking.
Great small company! That did great work ! Would recommend 10/10
Steven and his team were absolutely fantastic! They were professional, worked efficiently, and stayed until my long list of To-Dos was totally complete.
Steve might be a wonderful handyman but there is no way we will ever know. He failed to show up at the designated time for our first meeting and never called. When I reached out (after multiple phone calls), he said he was sick. Fine, not a problem, and we made an appointment for the following week. He came by, a half-hour late, looked at the jobs, and said he would send an estimate. The estimate never arrived. When I reached him again, after multiple tries, and after leaving voicemails, I let him know that we did not need an estimate but since he had given us his hourly rate, he could come by and work and would be paid that day. That day is today and he failed to show once again. I called and left a voicemail to no avail. We, in general, like to use smaller self-owned businesses but have never had the issues we have had with this one. Very unprofessional to not even leave a message saying he could not do the job or did not want to do the job or... whatever. He seems like a nice guy and seems to do good work, judging by others' comments. But I would not recommend him. We are back to square one after weeks of dealing with him, forgiving his past no-show and lack of responsiveness. I would steer clear of him. There are other people out there who want your business and who behave professionally. We will find one and reach out to them.
Steve is one of the few contractors I’ve used where money was not his priority. He’s a man of words and very realable. Never any issues contacting him and always returned my calls promptly . For all the hours he put in, the final invoice was more than fair. Less than what I thought it would be. He is flexible, trustworthy and was great around my children, as he is a father himself. He knows what he’s doing and overall a funny and great guy. Highly recommended.
Steve did a great job installing my new microwave he was on time and got it working on budget.
