- Blown timeline — 2018 shower job hit nine weeks on a two-week estimate
- BBB B- grade — BBB cites an unanswered complaint
In an April 2018 Porch review, a customer of Hashem Construction said a bathroom shower renovation they were told would take 1.5 to 2 weeks was going on nine weeks and still not done, with repeated promised dates when no one showed up. The North Reading builder describes itself as serving clients for over three generations, specializing in design/build, additions, kitchen and bathroom renovations and new construction. BBB rates it B-, citing a failure to respond to one complaint filed against the business, and shows it starting in 1988. BuildZoom lists Massachusetts home improvement contractor #116025 and shows six permitted projects from 2008 to 2025. Porch shows 3.0 from two ratings.

Easily the most frustrating construction project I've ever had. I was told that my renovation of a bathroom shower would take 1.5-2 weeks.....we are going on 9 weeks and it still isn't done. Time and time again I was promised it would be done by XYZ day and time. Time and time again no one showed up, or would show up and work for 30 minutes and leave without finishing. It got to the point where I re-painted the entire ceiling myself, because I was so frustrated with the lack of progress. Unless you want to be the project manager (and set yourself up for disappointment), I would not recommended moving forward with Hashem.
