Three generations in the trade, six permits on file, and not one customer review anywhere — that is the whole of what Hashem Construction has published about itself. Its Houzz profile posts from 133 Main St in North Reading and describes design/build work: additions, kitchen and bathroom renovations, and new construction, across a service area the company lists as 31 towns. BuildZoom carries a Hashem Construction profile too, but at 136 Kara Dr in North Andover, under the name Hashem Construction Inc, with John Hashem Jr listed as owner. Whether those are one company or two related ones is not something either page settles. The permit side is the firmer half. BuildZoom shows six permitted projects and scores the business 90, which on its own scale is the 47th percentile among Massachusetts contractors — middling, not a mark against them. On licensing, BuildZoom lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #116025, as active, and a second one, #199977, as inactive and at one point cancelled. Neither number was confirmed against the state registry, so both stand as the directory's claim rather than a checked fact. What nobody has written is the part that usually decides a hire: neither profile carries a customer review. So the ordinary diligence has to be done by hand here — ask for two or three references from jobs finished in the last year, and look up the current registration yourself with Massachusetts Consumer Affairs before any deposit changes hands.
