Heirloom Builders, LLC

Heirloom Builders is a Gloucester general contractor and custom home builder, run hands-on by its owner, Alex Egmont, who the company says is on site overseeing every project from start to finish. It describes itself as a specialist in fine renovations, historic home restoration, additions, and custom cabinetry across Cape Ann and the North Shore, in business since 2012. Most of what's on Google is short, clustered praise — several five-star reviews from September 2024 calling Alex knowledgeable, responsive, and detail-oriented, without much specific project detail. The two accounts that go into more depth are older: a review from late 2021 describes working with Alex's team across multiple projects — repairs, rehabs, additions, and new construction — and calls them organized and hard-working, and a review from mid-2021 describes both large-scale building projects and custom-designed furniture, cabinetry, and millwork completed skillfully across several jobs. The Better Business Bureau gives the company an A+ rating, though it is not a BBB-accredited business. There isn't a lot of granular, recent detail to go on here — most of the written praise is brief — so for a larger renovation, addition, or custom carpentry project on Cape Ann, it's worth asking Alex directly to walk through recent, finished work.
