Twelve reviews across three platforms — BuildZoom, HomeAdvisor and Angi — describe kitchen and bathroom remodels, mostly on the South Shore and Cape Cod, with customers repeatedly praising Mike's daily communication and hands-on oversight. One 2024 review describes a full first-floor renovation that moved a kitchen and installed new hardwood, tile and custom window trim over three months; another, from 2023, walks through a six-week Cape Cod bathroom gutted and rebuilt, with weekly meetings to settle finishes. BuildZoom's permit records back this up with 49 permitted jobs, mostly kitchen and bathroom remodels, spread across towns from Plymouth to Boston. Not every account is glowing. A 2023 review describes a $3,200 cabinet-installation job in Mashpee that went badly: the customer says Mike disappeared mid-project, never provided an invoice or insurance certificate, and damaged cabinet parts that had to be reordered, eventually taking the dispute to small claims court. Worth knowing before booking: Heirloom's home improvement contractor registration (204205) has lapsed on the state registry, even though Mike's own construction-supervisor license remains active — the two are separate credentials, but the lapsed one is worth asking about directly. For a kitchen or bathroom remodel on the South Shore or Cape Cod, the bulk of the record here is strong and specific — just confirm current registration and get everything in writing before signing on.
Mike and his team did a full first floor renovation including moving the kitchen!!. From day 1 communication was ?. Begin to end this project took 3 months, Mike and his workers were clean, courteous, and many times went above and beyond. From the brand new hardwood floor throughout to the tile work, to the custom window trim and pocket door every was done with precision and exceptional craftsmanship. Mike would check and re check all work done, and always we would have conversations to make sure I was satisfied as the project went along. 5 stars for Heirloom Construction LLC, I will be calling them soon for my next project
We hired Mike to do a complete remodel of our Cape Cod bathroom. The project took about six weeks. By far the hardest part of the remodel project was getting the town building dept to issue the 5 permits required and getting inspectors to come out. Working with Mike was a pleasure. We would meet weekly to work out paint colors, plumbing and electrical fixture locations, outlet locations etc. and it worked out well. His subcontractors where top notch and his total contract price was significantly less then the three other local builders. I would highly recommend him to others and would hire him again in a minute
Mike and his team redid my entire Kitchen and my husband I couldn’t be happier; paid attention to detail and suggested things we never would have considered and only made it exceptional! Mike was always professional, understanding and hardworking..100% satisfied and he’s even started another project for us..trust him immensely!!
Mike was so professional, attentive to details and listened to what I wanted to accomplish with this project. He showed up when he said he was going to and the communication was easy. I would 100% recommend them and I will use them again in the future.
Mike Lear and his tradesmen were the ultimate professionals. The communication from Mike about the project and its progress was daily, he inspected all aspects of the work done, and made sure I was happy with it as it went along. It was a kitchen renovation, living room, total first floor overhaul. Everyone who worked on my project was courteous and cleaned up their workspace. My kitchen is gorgeous! I highly recommend Mike Lear and Heirloom Construction, I will be hiring them for my bathroom renovation in the spring!
