Helmer Electrical is an electrician whose recent Thumbtack customer ended up with two very different experiences: the customer says he did very nice work fixing mistakes a prior electrician made installing a replacement bathroom ceiling fan, but when they left a note asking him to do a second job, he called, made what they called a paranoid rant about a robot and hung up, then hung up again when they called back the next day. That customer now calls him a hard no. The company's own site describes residential and commercial electrical work: installations, repairs, maintenance and troubleshooting, including remodeling work, service upgrades, EV chargers and generators. A Massachusetts electrician license, 23212, is active on the state registry with Stephan Helmer as the holder. A 2024 Google customer said Stephan Helmer finished a complex rewiring in their old house and saved them money whenever he could. A different 2024 Google customer said he diagnosed and corrected a serious wiring error in their new duplex. A 2024 Thumbtack customer said he solved their wiring issue on the same day. In 2020, a Thumbtack customer said he installed a sconce light and mounted two TVs, and took care of a PS4 wire installation they had forgotten to plan for, though the job took a little extra time than they anticipated. A 2020 Thumbtack customer with molding and a coffered ceiling said he gave them the best solution for installation.
He did a very nice job fixing the mistakes a prior electrician made when installing a replacement bathroom ceiling fan. Really very nice work. When I left a note asking him to do a second job, he called, I answered, he made some paranoid rant about a robot and hung up. I called him back the next day to ask what was going on, and he hung up on me. So, despite the excellent work on the first job, he's now a hard no.
Stephen did a great job! I gave him my timeline for the project and stuck to it. Great communication, polite, I trusted him in my home. A++
Stephan provides exceptional work and service in everything he does! If you are looking for a professional that will be on time, communicate clearly, compete the work exactly as you desire and provide a level of service rarely found these days, I highly recommend Helmer Electrical for your home needs. We were very happy with his work and glad to see that there are professionals like him still making homes brighter for us. Thank you, Stephan! Awesome job!
Stephen did two jobs completely successfully. In one case he had to diagnose and correct a serious wiring error in our new duplex. He responded quickly in both cases, and we will always call him for any future problems. The hard part of electrical work is diagnosing the problem, and he is great at that!
Stephan Helmer recently finished a complex rewiring in my old house. He is a real pro. He was efficient, communicative, safety oriented, and saved me money whenever he could. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again in the future.
