Herks Carpentry Inc

Herks Carpentry is a West Barnstable carpentry and remodeling contractor, founded and run by Hercules ("Herk") Costa, serving the South Shore and Cape Cod with new construction, additions, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, decks, cabinetry and roofing. Massachusetts records an active home improvement contractor registration, verified against the state registry, under Hercules Costa's name (No. 195982); the Better Business Bureau separately lists a Construction Supervisor license and has accredited the business since February 2026 with an A+ rating. Every one of twenty-two Google reviews, all dated 2025, is five stars, and the same specifics come up repeatedly: careful, detail-oriented craftsmanship and clear communication from Herk directly. A 2025 review described him redesigning and building a kitchen while also handling a porch addition, and calling the whole process simple. Another reviewer said they have hired Herks on and off for five years and found him reliable, knowledgeable, fair on cost, and good at solving problems on the fly. Several reviewers, including one writing in Portuguese, single out Hercules personally as attentive and professional; one longtime client called him a "master craftsman." One thing worth asking about directly: the Better Business Bureau lists the business as started in February 2020 — about six years ago — while the company's own website says it was founded ten years ago. The two accounts don't match, so it's worth clarifying how long Herks Carpentry has actually been operating. For a Cape Cod or South Shore homeowner looking for carpentry-driven work — a kitchen remodel, an addition, custom cabinetry, or a deck — Herks' verified license, BBB accreditation, and a deep run of specific, repeat-client praise make it worth a call. All the reviews here date to a single recent year, so it's also fair to ask for a longer look at past projects if you want to see how the work has held up over time.
