Hillcrest Electric is a Needham electrical contractor that's been around since 1966 (incorporated in 2001), run by Bill LeMay Jr., and its Massachusetts electrician license is verified active with the state. Google shows a 4.9★ average from 13 ratings, and BBB gives it an A+. Reviewers describe a range of everyday electrical jobs done well. In a December 2025 review, a longtime customer described a quick, well-priced transfer switch installation for a generator and battery setup, and said they'd since called Hillcrest for exterior issues other electricians had caused. In a 2025 review, someone had a ceiling fan installed on a high ceiling — a trickier job — and called it first-rate, on-time work. A 2023 review described a same-day Tesla Wall Connector install with a professional, on-time visit from first call to invoice, and another from the same year said the company had been their go-to for 9 years running: responsive, reasonably priced, trustworthy. In a 2021 review, a customer described replacing outdated 2-prong outlets and switches and upgrading circuit breakers to meet code, calling the company honest and quick to fit them in. There's nothing negative on record. The company is a member of the Needham Chamber of Commerce, though its own website is a bare placeholder with no services or service area listed — the actual picture of what they do comes from the reviews rather than their marketing. For a straightforward residential job — outlet work, fan or fixture installs, EV charger setup — this looks like a reliable, fairly priced call, with a track record that goes back years.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Hillcrest Electric Corporation. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
Standard receptacle swaps — a new dedicated circuit is a bigger job ($350–$750).
Flush mounts, pendants, chandeliers — hung on existing boxes.

These guys are the best. I started using Hillcrest Electric a few years ago when I wanted to install a single transfer switch for both a generator and a battery. They understood exactly what I wanted and completed it quickly and at a great price. I've also called them for various exterior issues caused by other electricians and they always came out quickly. I'll never use another electrician.
I used Hillcrest for a difficult job -- installing a ceiling fan on a high ceiling -- and they were on-time and did a first-rate job. I'm pleased with the result.
Timely, responsive, efficient, personable and professional. What more could you want? John was great to work with. Will definitely use them again and they come highly recommended.
Quick, friendly, fair, and kind. I can't recommend them enough.
We have used Hillcrest Electric for the last 9 years. They are responsive, reasonably priced and very trustworthy. The type of people you would be happy to have in your home.
