Hocol Roofing

Four customers have written about Hocol Roofing since 2023, and two of them tell the same story: water coming in around a chimney, and a crew that found it and stopped it. A December 2023 Google reviewer wrote that "Danny and his team" came out for a leak around the chimney and worked on the roof; a February 2024 Angi reviewer described the same kind of call, a bad leak by the chimney, sorted out with the site left clean afterward. The company works out of 3 Tanglewood Drive in Milford and presents itself as a roofing shop first: metal roofing, asphalt shingles, roof repair and full replacement, with financing offered. It describes itself as family owned, with more than 60 years of combined experience across the team. Its BBB profile, filed under the name Hocol Remodeling Group, Inc., widens the list to siding, gutters and replacement windows. Here is the part worth pausing on. The company's own site advertises over 25 years of experience, while its BBB profile puts the business at eight years, with a start date of 17 February 2018. Those two figures don't line up, and eight years is the one on file. The written history is thin, and it stops early. Angi and HomeAdvisor each show a 5.0, but it is the same three February 2024 comments printed on both sites, one of which is itself republished from Google, so four distinct reviews is the real total and none is newer than early 2024. Building permits carry the story further forward: BuildZoom shows three roof jobs over three years, in Sterling, Attleboro and Springfield. On paper the credentials read cleanly. The BBB grades the business A+ and publishes no complaints or government actions, and both the BBB and BuildZoom list a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 195770, with the BBB also listing a construction supervisor licence, CS-113014. Those are directory entries rather than something confirmed at the state registry here. BuildZoom separately lists a Connecticut home improvement registration, HIC.0653234, as inactive and at one point cancelled. A reasonable call for a Milford-area leak or a full replacement, and Spanish-speaking service is listed on both Angi and HomeAdvisor. Before signing, ask directly how long the company has been operating, and ask to see the current Massachusetts registration and the insurance certificate yourself.
