Homeowners around Framingham don't seem to shop this one around. "I don't even bid out contract work anymore. I just text JJ," a commenter wrote in a February 2020 r/FraminghamMA thread, describing a complete kitchen remodel he'd had done — and then a second one for his neighbors.
JJ is Jihad Haddad, the owner and, per the company's Better Business Bureau profile, its sole employee. He runs Home and Garden Construction out of 9 Brookvale Rd in Framingham. The company's own site says it was founded in 2003 and handles renovations, additions and new construction across MetroWest and greater Boston, with masonry, carpentry, siding and painting done by in-house crews. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 162007, is active and held in Haddad's name; the construction supervisor number CS-084918 that the company publishes and that BBB also lists has not been checked against the registry here.
The permit trail on BuildZoom is the widest picture of where the work actually happens: Sterling, Boston, Newton Center, Auburndale, Framingham, Waban, Arlington, Ashland and Waltham. The written accounts are fewer and older. A 2018 BuildZoom reviewer listed the bathroom work item by item — a wall repaired, tilework removed, vanity top, sink and recessed shelving replaced — said he came when he said he would and finished on schedule, then hired him again for more work on the house. A 2016 reviewer described a hail-damaged roof he hadn't noticed until the company flagged it, then walked through the insurance claim and replaced the roof four days ahead of the insurer's own timeline. A 2013 HomeAdvisor customer was comfortable enough to hand over house access while abroad.
That is the whole written history: four reviews across four sources, the newest from May 2018. Nothing in it is bad — the one sour note, also from 2018, is a homeowner who said the reply came too slowly and he already had three quotes in hand. But a record that stops eight years ago says less about how the business runs today than a thin one from last year would, and it is the main reason to treat the rating here as provisional rather than settled.
The dates around the company's age don't line up either: the site and its HomeAdvisor profile both point to 2003, while BBB records a business start of 1/3/2010 and incorporation in 2019. Worth asking directly. Also worth knowing that the A+ on the BBB page sits on a profile that states plainly the business is not BBB accredited — two different things.
A good call for a MetroWest homeowner who wants one owner-operator running a kitchen, bath, roof or addition end to end rather than a crew rotating through. Ask for recent references and confirm the registration number yourself with the state before signing.

JJ fixed a wall, removed tilework, replaced the vanity top and sink and replaced recessed shelving in our bathroom. It all looks great, he communicated well, came when he said he would, and completed the work as scheduled. We are very pleased, and hired him to do some more work on our house. We feel lucky to have found him!
Last year my roof was pelted with hail. I wasn’t aware of the damage until Home and Garden Construction alerted me to it. They walked me through the process of dealing with the insurance company and then replaced the roof. Their work is exceptional. They came in four days under what the insurance company predicted the construction time should be. They were fast and efficient and left the surroundings in better condition than when they started.
