Home Contractor Pros is a Nashua painting and home-improvement provider whose customer accounts center on house painting, drywall-related work, trim, minor carpentry, and power washing. Angi lists exterior painting, 20 projects, Spanish-language service, and 16 years of experience at the Nashua address. Customers describe careful scraping and preparation before painting, work on exterior and interior trim, doors and ceilings, minor carpentry repairs, and power washing. Several reviewers praised the crew's workmanship, responsiveness to questions, communication about scheduling, and willingness to return for additional work; one customer specifically said the prep improved the finished result. Angi reports a 3.9-star rating from 12 reviews, with most ratings at five stars but also two one-half-star complaints and one two-star complaint. The negative accounts are specific. One homeowner said the quote increased when work began, materials required an upfront outlay, and a job stretched to three weeks with limited daily progress and difficult conduct. Another described damage to shower-door hardware, cabinets, a shop vacuum, walls, woodwork, and floors, along with an attempt to collect more money after payment and unauthorized entry by a crew. A separate complaint described a promised multi-person crew becoming a one-person subcontracted operation, an eight-day delay, missing communication, and a request for a five-star rating after completion. These are material issues to weigh alongside the detailed praise for painting preparation and workmanship.
These guys were great. They were always time, very polite, they listened to my requests, and got the job done fast. I would recommend them to all my friends. I will definitely be using them for my next project.
Be aware that the quote that you receive may be changed the first day team comes to work, meaning you pay more than you were quoted. Also be ready to provide money for the material since they do not buy with their own money. Process that was initially scoped to take few days to a week, took 3 weeks. They work only few hours a day, prolonging the project. Work quality is just acceptable but their personalities require effort to manage. Make sure that you live away from neighbors so they will not hear the swearing and yelling that this team considers a normal behavior. Oh, make sure that you have proper absorbent, their truck leaks oil. I wish you luck if you decide to hire this team.
I would recommend them
We found Home Contractor Pros through HomeAdivsor and I would NEVER recommend or hire this company EVER. If I could put lower than half-a-star I would. Lupe probably had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. He came for an estimate at our house and promised a 3-4 guy crew for the job to be done in 3-4 days maximum, he also said he would call us the next day after checking his schedule. He never called. I had to call him two days later, and Lupe had no idea who I was, what I was talking about or even remembering coming for an estimate at my house. When we agreed on a date, I sent a confirmation email the day before the job was starting and he told me how glad he was that I emailed him because he lost my number. When the job started, he did not inform us that he sub-let the job out to a ONE MAN crew that took almost 8 full days; in which he never called to see if we were satisfied. When we called on Friday night (after 5 full days of work) to see what was going on, because we were left with NO bathroom doors for a whole weekend and house a complete disaster, he still did not remember us. My husband told Lupe that he wanted what was promised (3-4 man crew) on Monday or the job is over. Monday came, still a one man operation. After 8 days to do 3 rooms, the job was finished and Lupe told the sub-let painter to ask us to give him a 5 Star rating on HomeAdvisor. Lupe did not even call us when the job was over to see if we were satisfied, had any questions, to thank us for business. Nothing. That was 2 weeks ago and still have not heard from Lupe. This company is ridiculous!!!!!!
The pros I hired destroyed many things in my home - bent the track for my sliding glass doors in the shower and dislodged the glass door right from the track, ripped the cabinet door (breaking the hinge right off) on one cabinet door in the kitchen and bent the hinges on two other cabinet doors, used my shop vac (even though they had their own) and left me with the on button broken and the mud they used for the ceiling coated inside the vac - forcing me to buy another vac, ceiling paint , mud, and dings on all my walls which I will have to repaint, scraped my woodwork in two different rooms, left the mudding from the ceiling embedded into my handscraped/distressed dark wood floors and left me struggling to remove it (if I even can), and left all interior lights hanging from the ceiling by their wires. If this wasnt enough, the owner of the company tried to tell me I owed more money even though I had paid in full. I told him I had all the checks recorded at my bank and they would be glad to provide copies. After that e-mail, he said he was just about to tell me not to send any more money - quite an apology, right? The last dealing I had was when the crew that had done the ceilings entered my house without permission or knowledge and took the tools they left. I feel violated and very upset. I have had to change the locks and put in a security system. My hope is to warn others so they can avoid this horrible experience. Keep careful track of the money paid to a contractor and keep documentation. I wish others better luck than what I have experienced.
