Nearly every review here is about a company with a different name. The Angi and HomeAdvisor profile is titled HomesEast Builders Corp., but the customers writing it call the business Colonial Sash & Door, and they all talk about the same person: Ryan. The company answers reviews under the HomesEast name, so this is one outfit that changed its sign, not two. It works out of 32 Puritan Road in Swampscott and says it has 27 years behind it. The jobs described sit mostly on the outside of a house — vinyl siding, roof repairs and replacement, windows, trim and doors, deck and porch work — plus handyman projects and property maintenance. Two January 2024 reviews tell the same story from different angles. One homeowner had a roof done, then years later called Ryan back when another contractor's work went wrong; he came out the next day, took pictures, and showed the fault was the siding company's rather than his. Another asked only for a siding quote on a rental property, and Ryan flagged roof problems bad enough that they hired him for both jobs. Earlier customers describe floors installed in 2017 with the site cleaned up each day, and a bathroom vanity countertop fitted in 2021 that was quick, neat and reasonably priced. The one bad experience is worth reading in full. A March 2021 customer, happy with the quote, then had nobody turn up on two scheduled days with no word either way, and was eventually told the project couldn't be completed. The owner's public reply cited a family member's medical emergency. That is one incident out of thirteen reviews, but it is about not showing up, which is the failure homeowners feel most. Both directories list Massachusetts trade licence CS-118865 for the company, expiring in November 2026 — that is their listing rather than a confirmation, so check it with Consumer Affairs yourself. This is a sensible call for siding, roof and window work; the newest written account is from February 2024, so ask for a more recent job you can go and look at.
