Hometown Fuel LLC delivers heating oil and says on its website that it has served Newtown, CT and surrounding communities since 2009 as a family-owned and operated company. In a 2026 review, a customer wrote that they woke up to an empty tank in the middle of winter and Rich was there within hours to get them running again, when a company they had used before could not come until a day later. In a 2025 review, a customer who said they had moved to Newtown two years earlier wrote that their boiler would not fire after they tried changing the filter themselves; at 8 p.m. the company called back and stayed on the phone for 30 minutes walking them through bleeding, priming and firing it. A 2023 customer said Cindy took a call at closing time and Rich came by within 15 minutes to fill their tanks, then, with the furnace giving them trouble, stayed for hours to help with repairs. A 2021 reviewer who was not yet a customer asked for an emergency same-day delivery and wrote that a few hours later the owner showed up, filled the tank and bled the lines so the heat would come on. A 2025 customer whose rental property's tank sat empty after the renters left said their longtime supplier quoted a delay of nearly three weeks, while Rich took the call immediately and had everything taken care of. A 2026 customer who could not get a delivery from their regular company before a major storm said Hometown came out the next day and charged less than the old company. A 2025 customer said Rich delivered even though the driveway was icy. A 2025 customer who had run out of oil several times wrote that the company refilled and purged the system and lit the pilot light, doing it free the first time while showing how to do it, and charging a fee if it happens again.
