Homeowners writing about this Woburn general contractor and construction manager describe dealing with him directly — walking the site, pricing the job, fielding the questions — from a 2020 kitchen-and-bath project through reviews posted this year. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, held under HONORATO COMPANY, INC. The work people describe is the big kind. In 2022 an Arlington homeowner wrote about a dormer bedroom and office added to their house, at a price below every other quote they collected. Another that year went through a gut rehab of a 100-year-old two-family. Basements come up constantly — finished lower levels, one with a 3/4 bathroom built in, another where the carpentry drew a callback for more work in 2019. A 2023 reviewer described a whole-house renovation with structural changes and said the pricing stayed competitive and the budget respected throughout. The star averages sit high, but the pools are small and split across platforms: 4.8 from 20 Google ratings, 4.5 from 11 on Houzz, 5.0 from 15 on Porch, and 5.0 from just three on HomeAdvisor. Most of the substantive writing is 2020–2022, much of it posted under the firm's earlier name, JC General Contracting. Houzz also carries a licence number and OSHA 10 & 30 training on its profile — those are the directory's own entries, not verifications. Two complaints are worth reading before calling. A 2022 Houzz reviewer said the basement framing went pleasantly but that mistakes surfaced afterward, beginning with a shower door that didn't work with the framing as built. And in 2023 a homeowner said an evaluation visit was followed by a promised quotation that never came — ten days past the date they were given. Worth knowing too: two of the five-star Google reviews come from trade partners rather than homeowners, one from a self-described subcontractor and one from the metal fabricator Azores Iron Works. One oddity in the paper trail: the HomeAdvisor page's only older reviews, both from 2017, describe house cleaning by named cleaners rather than any construction work. This is a fit for the larger project — an addition, a custom build, a basement or attic conversion — where having a manager on the job matters more than hiring a single-trade crew. Before you sign, pin down the date you'll have the estimate in hand, and ask who supervises the site day to day.
