Honorato Company

A dormer bedroom and office added to an Arlington house. A hundred-year-old two-family taken back to the studs. A three-section basement with four bathrooms and a kitchen. A first home, built from the ground up. Windson Honorato took over his father's construction company in 2015, and the work customers describe runs from one new bathroom to an entire house. Honorato Company is a second-generation family firm based in Woburn — started by Jose Honorato as WWH Construction, named for his sons Windson and Willian, renamed JC General Contracting and Cleaning in 2015 when Windson took over, and now trading under the family name. It works as a design-build and construction management outfit across Greater Boston, from Lexington and Newton out to Concord, Beverly and Danvers. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #187755, is active on the state registry in the company's name. Much of what customers write about is how Windson handles the middle of a project. In January 2022 a client's chosen window was backordered and would not arrive in time, and he worked out an alternative. Another customer that month, midway through a full gut of a century-old two-family, credited him with being straight about the costs and the difficulties as they surfaced. A September 2023 client had an attic renovated at a competitive price with flexibility on the plans, and a February 2022 addition in Arlington came in as the lowest of several quotes the owner collected. Jose and the crew get named for the craftsmanship; Nilson and William turn up as well. Three things to weigh before calling. In November 2023 someone who had a site visit and was promised a quotation on 2 November said it still had not arrived ten days later. In May 2022 a Houzz reviewer who had a basement framed under the JC General Contracting name said the end result was not good and that mistakes surfaced afterwards, including around a shower door the customer had supplied. A January 2022 reviewer, happy with the work overall, said a bit more speed would have made it perfect. Note too that two of the five-star Google reviews come from trade partners rather than customers — one from a subcontractor, one from Azores Iron Works, an ironworks firm the company hires. For a renovation with real structure to it — an addition, a dormer, a basement build-out, a house gutted and put back together — this is a design-build shop whose customers describe being walked through the options first. Pin the quote date down in writing when you ask for one, and settle in advance who is responsible for fixtures you supply yourself.
