HomeAdvisor displays a 4.9 average from 70 ratings, while HWP Construction’s seven written reviews span 2017 to 2023. The company describes itself as a family-owned general contractor serving the Boston area, with work ranging from framing, siding, windows and decks to kitchens, bathrooms and painting; BBB says it has been in business for 20 years. HomeAdvisor says the business has 15 recent projects, and BuildZoom lists 63 permitted projects and a score of 100. The older written accounts include detailed praise for porch and deck work, exterior repairs, project communication and crews that kept homeowners informed. In 2022, one homeowner described HWP as a go-to for large and small projects and praised the planning and communication; in 2021, another said the crew completed work efficiently and adapted when a historical commission required changes. A 2017 reviewer described careful treatment of the home and strong technical work. These are dated experiences, not a guarantee of current crew or practices. There is also a sharply negative 2021 account about an interior painting job: the reviewer said the wrong shade was applied and that HWP did not correct it after the mistake was demonstrated. Ask how paint colors are confirmed, who signs off on interior finishes, and what happens when completed work misses the agreed specification. That specific complaint sits beside the much larger, highly favorable HomeAdvisor rating, so it is a practical point to discuss rather than a complete picture of the company. HWP may suit owners planning a broad renovation or exterior project who want one contractor for carpentry, additions, kitchens, bathrooms, decks and painting. Before booking, confirm the current scope, who will supervise the work, and the correction process in writing. BuildZoom lists construction-supervisor and home-improvement credentials for the company; confirm the applicable Massachusetts registration and status with the state before relying on a directory listing. Houzz's address line is inconsistent with its own description and service-area text, so verify the business location directly.

Great team, excellent work
HWP is my go-to for projects large and small. Zania is wonderful at project planning and provides great communication. Francisco and his team do wonderful work--always walking you through the finished job, and going over any question you might have. They have my complete trust and confidence, and I plan to use them for future jobs at my single family home.
They did an outstanding job in a timely, efficient manner and were flexible when the town's historical commission insisted on changes. The management and crew were professional and personable and communication was excellent. I would hire them again and recommend them.
HWP Construction is not an interior company, their work on this job was horrible and irresponsible. A supervisor had his painter paint the wrong shade color and, when this was proven, not only did they pretend to not know about it (when the painter himself confessed) but HWP refused to redress their sloppy work. I would NEVER hire this company for work on the inside of any home as they are untrustworthy.
It was excellent, they have been working for me for a year now, the communication was excellent, they did a good job in cleaning and I am happy with the service.
