Rebuilding outdoor stairs and renovating a house are among the jobs customers have described hiring J.E Hooper Builders to do. The Pocasset business’s written customer accounts run from 2010 through 2023. In a July 2021 Angi review, a homeowner said they chose JE Hooper from three companies to rebuild two sets of stairs leading from the house to the yard. They praised the work and price, and said it started and finished on time. A December 2023 Google reviewer described hiring Jim to renovate a house in Cataumet. They praised the quality and said he was easy to work with. In a March 2021 Angi review, another customer called their bathroom remodel a total do-over, praised the finished result, and spoke positively about both Jim’s work and his subcontractors’ specialties. A separate review that same month said a project was 70 percent complete and that the work done to that point was good; it described flooring, wall paint and a shower door as still to come. Older accounts describe smaller carpentry and repair jobs too. A July 2011 reviewer said Jim had completed hardwood maple stairs in a new home and was also working on finish trim. In a September 2010 review, a customer praised his assessment of time and materials and said the job finished when promised. These are dated customer experiences, rather than descriptions of current scheduling. Houzz identifies the business as established in 1989 and lists custom homes, remodeling, additions and new-home construction. Angi and HomeAdvisor also list framing, interior trim, bathroom and kitchen remodeling. The BBB page gives the business an A+ grade and explicitly states that it is not BBB accredited. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 157396, is registry-verified expired under J.E Hooper Builders LLC. Angi and HomeAdvisor separately list CS-050827 as a self-reported trade license. The directory descriptions of experience also disagree: BBB gives 37 years, Houzz gives 30, and Angi and HomeAdvisor give 28.
