We feel incredibly fortunate to have found J. Smith to restore our very old barn, which doubles as a garage. He understood that this was more than just a building—it was a piece of our property’s history that deserved to be preserved. He secured the entire structure with beautiful, locally hewn hardwood beams, restoring its integrity both structurally and aesthetically while honoring the character of the original barn. He is an exceptionally talented craftsman. He is thoughtful, trustworthy, incredibly hardworking, and uniquely kind. He takes tremendous pride in his work and approaches every detail with genuine care and respect. We are deeply grateful for what he has done and would recommend him wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a truly exceptional builder and craftsman.

We hired JP to remodel our stairs this summer and he did a great job from start to finish. The project included replacing the carpet and existing treads with new oak treads, replacing the newel posts and dowels, securing the posts (which were very loose), installing a new railing and risers, and adding new side panels along the stairs, and a decorative runner. JP was efficient, communicated well throughout the project, and the finished stairs look awesome. We’re very happy with the results and would highly recommend his work.
