Jack Mills Carpenter Builder

A homeowner had an antique dining table with a mismatched leaf and had been told by everyone that fitting it was a lost cause. Josh took it on in December 2025 and made the piece match. That is the small end of what this family shop does. The bigger end, from a March 2025 customer: two bathrooms rebuilt from the studs to the finish. A January 2025 kitchen remodel took in new countertops, sink, dishwasher, cabinets, floor, lighting and windows, with the stove moved. Another customer the same month had a bedroom reworked — floors redone, a closet built, windows installed, and a ballet barre put in to order. Jack Mills Carpenter-Builder, which also trades as Mills Fine Carpentry, is a family-operated carpentry and general contracting business in Scituate, run by the Mills family since 1974 by its own account. It does the carpentry itself and coordinates the plumbing, electrical, tile and HVAC trades around it. One thing to raise before signing: the Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration on file under Jack Mills, number 104224, is expired on the state registry. Ask where that stands and who will be pulling the permits for your job. The written history is small — four reviews, all from 2025, behind a 4.8 average across five Google ratings. For finish carpentry, a built-in, or a bathroom or kitchen rebuilt end to end on the South Shore, these customers describe a shop that works closely with the homeowner and keeps in touch the whole way through.
