One reviewer writing in 2015 said the firm had worked on their house for more than ten years across various projects; another that same year listed three straight years of jobs, a kitchen and living area, then a screen porch and mudroom, then a bathroom and laundry room. The company describes itself as a design/build outfit focused on kitchen and bath additions and renovations, custom showers a specialty, and says its Acton Kitchen & Bath subsidiary opened in 1995 before the shop moved to Concord. Its BBB file, kept under that alternate name, dates the corporation to 1975 and its incorporation to 1987, with John Dargin as president. The written history is rich in detail and dated. Houzz carries a 5.0 average across 24 ratings, and the twelve reviews shown there run 2015 to 2019. What they describe is whole-room work rather than surface refreshes: a basement full bathroom built from the studs up in a 2017 account, a 7-by-7 kids' bathroom in an antique house reworked for space and built-in shelving in 2018, a full kitchen gut in 2015 down to cupboards, backsplash, counters, floors and relocated doors and windows. Two threads repeat across those years — tile and woodwork detail, and the owner being on the job. A 2019 reviewer said Jack was on-site every day with his crew; reviewers in 2017 and 2018 said the work closed on time and inside budget. Two things are worth settling before you call. The Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration 111745, held under the name JACKBUILT, INCORPORATED, shows as expired in the state registry — worth asking whether it has since been renewed, since both Houzz and the company's own site still list that number as a credential, alongside a construction supervisor licence CS-018239 that we did not verify. Second, the address: a 2021 Google comment said the business had moved out, which fits the company's own account of relocating its shop more than once. For a homeowner planning a kitchen, bathroom or whole-floor renovation who wants the owner running the job rather than a project manager, the accounts here are consistent and specific — they are also all at least five years old. Confirm the registration status and the current Concord address before anything else.
