James J Wilson

James J Wilson has been pulling residential permits around the Merrimack Valley since 2005 — 14 of them through 2022, in Newburyport, Newbury, Groveland, Lowell, Salem, West Roxbury and Methuen. The work behind them is what a carpenter grows into: kitchen and bath remodels, siding, decks and screen porches, and an addition. BuildZoom carries a second owner entry for the page under the name Jim Wilson Carpentry. One 2017 permit shows the range in a single job — an interior remodel taking in a new kitchen, a bathroom, a bath/laundry and cellar work with a perimeter drain and waterproofing. He works out of 22 Collins Street in Amesbury, and the phone on the BuildZoom page is (978) 420-6468. BuildZoom lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #177553, for him. If you want one carpenter running a remodel or a porch in the Amesbury and Newburyport area, look up that registration number on the state's contractor lookup before you sign, and ask for a written scope and a certificate of insurance. Worth asking, too, which of the permitted jobs is closest to yours — the 2017 whole-interior job is the largest on the list.
