Jay's Masonry and Waterproofing is based in Wakefield and does foundation and basement waterproofing work. The detailed account on file is positive. A 2022 review described a job that started and finished on time, with a crew that patiently answered questions and settled on a "sensible, practical" fix priced fairly — after the homeowner had turned down pricier competitors selling what they described as a system that covered up the underlying problem instead of solving it. Two shorter 2022 reviews called the work "excellent" and "speedy" and said they'd recommend Jay and his crew after seeing them work in the neighborhood. The same window also carries four one-star entries with essentially no content — "Bad Experience," "Very Bad Services," "Dont Use This Services Very Poor" — and two of them, posted days apart, use the identical line "Paid Reviews So Dont Use This Services" word for word. That repetition is worth knowing about: it's hard to read four near-identical, detail-free ratings posted in the same short window as four independent accounts of the actual work. Get a written estimate and ask for references directly — the file here is small and split between one clearly detailed account of a job done well and a cluster of unexplained low ratings.
Started and finished on time and as promised. Everyone we had contact with was pleasant and easy to work with -- answered all our questions and concerns patiently and completely. We had several other bids from companies that were selling proprietary systems that were expensive and not suitable for our problems, covered up the problem instead of solving it. This company offered sensible, practical solutions at a reasonable price. Thanks Jay's Masonry and Waterproofing.
